Stats don’t lie. No one is saying he was an elite defender, but he wasn’t a bad defender by any metric. Specially compared to the rest of the team
No the stats say people’s eyes are a little biased. There’s a big difference between worst defender in the league and average to above average....

Really the team in general was decent in isolation defense. Tari/Green/Alp were all about the same in PPP
And about the same as Claxton in PPP on guarding the roll man. Alp is way better post up defense than Claxton.
Just to be clear, out of the top 50 in frequency Alp was better in PPP than Evan Mobley, Jarrett Allen, Kevon Looney, Bobby Portis, Sabonis, JJJ...
Might get flamed for this, but with KPJ spot up shooting that might be the best starting lineups with Green getting 32-34 as a microwave scorer....
