cost of living has shocked a few of my friends that made the move from texas to WA. Have you been to and explored seattle before? recently? downtown and the surrounding areas have gone to ****. graffiti, trash, homeless and squatters everywhere.
we have **** stirrers here too. they come from outside seattle, maybe portland and like to cause ****. WTO marches/riots/looters every year. traffic blows. property tax and car tabs are $$$. and i don't see it getting any better.
but it is beautiful up here. You can surf and ski in the same day. summers are perfect here. june/july/august is rain free, clear skys. and 70ish. stays green all year. winters are usually mild.
outside of seattle it can get to trump county real quick. not sure about the corp big tech broish vibe. but its not my world so i don't really see it. can't speak for portland. have only gone down to watch the rox.
