Wondo sucks so much, what is with Jurgens mancrush on him? GOALKEEPERS (3): Brad Guzan (Aston Villa/2007), Nick Rimando (Real Salt Lake/2011, 2013), William Yarbrough (Club Leon) DEFENDERS (7): Ventura Alvarado (Club America), John Brooks (Hertha Berlin), Timmy Chandler (Eintracht Frankfurt), Brad Evans (Seattle Sounders FC/2009), Omar Gonzalez (LA Galaxy/2013), Fabian Johnson (Borussia Mönchengladbach), Tim Ream (Bolton Wanderers/2011) MIDFIELDERS (9): Kyle Beckerman (Real Salt Lake/2009, 2013), Alejandro Bedoya (Nantes/2011, 2013), Michael Bradley (Toronto FC/2007, 2011), Brad Davis (Houston Dynamo/2005), Mix Diskerud (New York City FC/2013), Alfredo Morales (Ingolstadt), DeAndre Yedlin (Tottenham Hotspur), Gyasi Zardes (LA Galaxy), Graham Zusi (Sporting Kansas City) FORWARDS (4): Jozy Altidore (Toronto FC/2011), Clint Dempsey (Seattle Sounders FC/2005, 2007, 2011), Aron Johannsson (AZ Alkmaar), Chris Wondolowski (San Jose Earthquakes/2011, 2013)
I'm though Juan Agudelo would make it over Wondo. Also I think Benny Feilhaber, on his current form, was worth a call-up. But that midfield looks pretty solid, so I don't know whose place he would take (maybe Brad Davis...).
Honestly expected Morris to get in ahead of Wondo. He has been impressive as a sub late in matches with his speed. You get him and Yedlin in against tired legs and it can change a game.
I don't understand the inclusion of Brad Davis and Wondo. They're likely not starters. Why have these guys off the bench when you could have Morris/Agudelo/Wood? They don't bring anything that the younger guys bring...and they're not part of the future. When did Yedlin become a midfielder?
Totally agree. They aren't starting and, at this stage, won't be game-changers. Morris and Wood would've been guys who could come in push the pace late in the game. And I'm still angry: Wondolowski should never play for the national team again after that miss against Belgium. This is my sports lizard brain speaking.
I will never forgive Wondo. He's so lucky he plays for the USA where no one cares about soccer. If he played for any South American country, he would've been shot as soon as he stepped foot off the plane back home.
The 10 worst penalty misses of all time FYI...everyone on this list remains alive and from more "soccer mad" countries than the USA. Outside of San Jose, Wondo is pretty universally disliked at this time. There's little he can do to make up for that miss.

Good - playing varieties of teams like South American and European will only help the USMNT get better. They are on the rise - should be around top 15ish ....iMHO. DD
