Guess we should be thankful it wasn't Dr. Clanton and hopeful that Dr. Lowe can do wonders for Clowney as well. Should be noted that the Mavs/Parsons had Dr. Lowe examine Parsons' knee for an opinion as well as having him see their team doctor (Dr. T.O. Souryal).
Well, the Mavs already screwed up his rehab. Technically, Rockets screwed up too and let Dwight come back too early earlier this season, but they learned from it. Mavs could have learned from Dwight's situation, as CP seems to be having a.similar issue. Instead, they decided to rush him back because his pride got in the way of common sense.
this is/was absolutely key, a surgery's true effect is seen in the first few weeks and by being slow and methodical, howard may have gained 1-2 more quality years
I was actually pretty surprised to see McHale play him 38 minutes... of course some of that was necessitated by the game being close, and Dwight not being in foul trouble. But the key is that he finished strong and showed no signs of slowing down. Hopefully the knee responds as well now that the series goes to just one day off.... and then he can get almost a week+ to rest it.
dr. walter lowe performed my ACL reconstruction back in 2007. i'm still able to play at a high level so i can definitely vouch for the quality of his work.
Lowe primarily does the Texans, his 2nd in command, Flores, along with Biles, are the people who deserve most credit for Dwight
Once again for the naysayers...Do you see what has happened to Chandler Parsons and his knee? That is what happens when you have a serious major knee injury. Possible microfracture, shut down for the season, multiple opinions, etc. The medical staff is not trying to mislead anybody. Dwight's knee>Parsons' knee. Period.
I think the training staff and this man deserves another nod of approval. Dwight logged in some serious minutes this playoffs. Well done! Oh, and we are still waiting on some people to eat crow: http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=262121 http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=262248 http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=262412 http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=262169 http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=262100 We are waiting (only some, there were too many to count completely): Spoiler Dwight's not getting traded bro.
Wasn't there one poster who insisted Dwight would be fine and said the Rockets weren't blowing smoke with their releases? All while armchair doctors/consipracy theorists here were already declaring Dwight out for the career? Shockingly, the guy who actually knows about injuries ended up being correct. Who'd have thought?
Initially, no one had enough information to know what to believe. That's why there was so much speculation, especially after Dwight's bone on bone comment and the FO being vague. I myself thought it was likely worse. Later on in the year, as more info started to come out, it started making more sense. Some fans did overreact, but the team was also horrible at addressing rumors and speculation around his injury.
