So I'm in the market for some goggles. I usually fine playing without my glasses since high school, but now that my vision is getting worse... I'm almost blind when I step on the court and I can't wear my emo thick-rimmed glasses obviously. So I saw 2 types, the goggles: Spoiler and the baseball-player type: Spoiler I think the first type is good for eye protection against basketballs. However the second one looks much cooler and I can wear it when I'm on my bicycle or doing other outdoor stuff. The only downside is that it might not do too well if hit by a basketball. But I think Hinrich and Amare wear the second type and they seem fine. I'm tired of throwing hail marries cross court when the dude is just 10 feet away because depth perception sucks when I'm without glasses. Any tips, brehs?
I kinda want the second one tho. Went to several stores today and tried both. But I'm afraid the second one will break easily. Anyone tried either one before?
When I was 10 I had Horace grant goggles, they fogged up a bit, but that's from all my intangibles coming out when playing hard.I was a real hustle player, high motor kinda guy. I haven't tried on the latter, but do what makes you happy
Get some contacts, bro. But either frames should give you good protection. I wear wrapped sunglasses to shoot around sometimes, similar to the second one. They stay on because of rubber nosepads and earpieces. If they fall off easily, you can get the elastic bands to tighten them. The biggest issue with the second pair is if your prescription lenses can be made in that frame. Not all prescription lenses can be made in wrapped frames.
don't get the first ones. 2 problems 1)they get hot and fog up easily. 2) completely block peripheral vision
I throw a lot of head fakes and spins into my game, so I need the wraparound. Keep your game in mind when buying. It doesn't matter if they look cool or dorky. Let your game speak for itself.
The last time I wore my basketball goggles I was drooling over Harold Minor. Be careful. Don't drink and draft.
Thanks breh. I will probably get the second one, but my concern is that if I get hit in the face by a ball, it won't hold up. However, a buddy who has goggles say they tend to fog up.
