I heard K.Love will be out for the next 8-10 weeks.

I still would prefer him, but this should be noted.

cousins is probably doubtful if the kings are being sold. Usually they don't trade anyone so the new owners can make that decision.

People who expect big moves are going to be disappointed, especially if Morey is indicating that Asik is staying. This trade deadline is most likely going to be Morey's draft pick gathering day. Anderson is already signed to backup Delfino. Beverly signed to backup Douglas. Both players have some value to contenders.

If you think of it logically, it's unlikely the Rockets can make a big move. They lack the assets for anything other than a salary dump. A Rudy Gay type if you will. Parsons is too valuable to be part of a package for a semi-star. But Parsons+PF(whichever one) is not nearly enough to bring in a real star.

Therefore, sell at the deadline to those making a playoff push, gather some 1st/2nd round picks, and reload to make a move in the offseason. IMO that's the most likely course of action for Morey.

I think Parsons is the first piece teams would want that we'd be willing to trade. No teams are excited about Ppat, Morris, Tjones, or Douglas. Parsons has played well this season, but possibly over his head. We've seen the Rockets have great skill in trading players at their peak trade value, only to see them regress with their new teams (Landry, Brooks, Kmart, etc.).

If we want to get a good piece to take us to the next level, then I think Parsons has to go.

I'm not sure about that. Is that how things shook out in the Charlotte Hornets sale? I believe the league was under instructions to get as much cruft off the roster as possible to prep for the sale of the team.

I thought for sure that the Hornets deliberately were trying to shed salary and get as close to the salary floor as possible when they dealt Chris Paul...twice...Chris Kaman...all those guys. They had something silly like 3-4 Hornets still under contract when the sale was finally completed.

The difference is that Cousins is still on his rookie scale deal, so the Kings would potentially package overpaid players like Salmons and Garcia with Cousins instead.

The Granger idea is interesting to me. With George playing so well, Indiana might move Granger just to get out of Luxury tax ala Harden in OKC. Granger is a good 3-pt shooter to pair with Harden and Lin and he gets to the line often. He fits with what we like to run.

Parsons could play the athletic stretch 4, plus he is a decent rebounder. With Parsons stretching the defense Asik could easily mange the offensive boards and put backs. On the defense however I don't know if Parsons could hang. We would have to implement a constant switching defense to have a chance, which is possible.

Horry made a good four and I think Parsons has a similar skill set as Horry.

BIG SHOT BOB & NOW BIG BANG PARSONS!!!!!!!

    Git-r-done Morey!

What Im saying is hes untradable because hes worth so much to our team but his contract is so low it doens't make sense for us to move him. I dont see what the return would be that would make it worth it.

Yeah on second thought you could be right. Still, it's not like they have a real high salary currently...

Maybe Morey will be a seller? Move one of our 4s and get back into the draft? Create a more playing time for D-Mo?

I say we sell high on Smith. Two good centers is a luxury that might not be as useful as what we can get for him, given the demand for good big guys. If we got the right PF who could also play minutes at backup C (because everyone does that nowadays) it could be worth it.

Who has more trade value though between patterson and morris?

For some reason I'm thinking Morey is targeting someone who is not on our radar. Speights or maybe even a young guy like Boyimbo or John Henson. Someone who could be had for another young player, and then hold on to our cap space for the summer. I say those guys because he may be looking for rebounding and another person to guard the basket. It may not be time to make a splash.

I would like to say let's go other route. Let's get someone like R.Gay for Parsons one big and one prospect. We would still have someone in Morris or Patterson, we would give some playing time for D-Mo or T.Jones.

And if that's not enough we would still have enough core to make for a third trade to improve the 4, not with an all-star though, maybe with someone like L.Alridge giving the rest of young peaces and draft pick.

wouldn't it be cool to have:

Lin, Harden, Gay, Alridge, Asik as your starters? Have Delfino, Greg Smith, Douglas, Beverley as your rseserve players? I think that would make us a contender team.

    Agree/disagree?

I would rather see the Rockets trade for JJ Hickson. The guy can't stretch the floor all the way out to the 3 point line but he's pretty good in the PnR, above average defender and rebounder. He's a free agent after this season but shouldn't command near-max or max dollars which could help us to acquire more players.

I would like the Rockets to trade me an HD broadcast of their games in exchange for my monthly cable bill.

For those who don't know their history are doomed to repeat it.
    Chandler Parsons > Robert Horey.
Parsons is playing well right now and he's not even 100%.
