wasn't flashy because he was too good. Got to plays way better and earlier, so there was no need for flash. I say that because I think calling him "steady" is a massive disservice to his defensive prowess (though you may not have meant the word the way it sounds)

I remember Ensberg stepping up to the plate and I always liked his swing.

    Sweet, smooth swing. Whatever

I meant it as the ultimate compliment. I think there are far too many shortstops that are feast or famine. They'll make a barehanded play in the hole and then bobble a candy hop ground ball on the next play. With Everett, you never had to cross your fingers and hope he would make a play.

The Astros actually roved pretty well last season. They just couldn't play baseball worth a ****.

This hire seems unnecessary to me.

I actually really like Morgan, as a person. Hated the changed batting stances in between every at bat. But he responds to me on Twitter so he's super cool in my book :) Plus, he was funny, smart and engaging when my wife and I met him at an Astros dinner once. I'd hire him because I like to hire people who are smarter than me (this is where my wife says, "and that's not real difficult to find.")
