The finest Tmac moment in a Rockets uniform. It's really unfortunate the Big Two never reached their full potential, be it personnel or injuries.
McGrady and Yao had 60 of the 81 points. If that isn't a microcosm of how bad the rest of the team was during a few of those years.
I watched the whole thing with my spurs fan buddy giving me **** the whole game. He shut up after that.
Wasn't Brown traded that offseason or something? When I heard he got traded I remembered that specific fumble. Maybe Pops have had enough. That was probably the most boring Rockets game with the most exciting 1.5 minutes.
the 13 in 35 was a pretty good moment, I saw that live with some Rockets fans. A definitely memorable ending to a regular season game on TNT. but in the grand history of the Rockets, it's just a footnote.
I remember I was at that game. Unbelievable finish, I remember I was hugging and high-fiving people I didn't even know, lol.
Ok, sure. He was a great guy but as a footnote he never got out the 1st round. He did score 13 in 35 one time, in a regular season game. A pure champion.
I love how Charles complains about the Spurs free throw shooting as one of the reasons they lost the game. Charles, what game were you looking at?? They practically made every free throw in the 4th quarter including every one during the run.
I was at this game with my dad. We walked out with 44 seconds remaining in the game, because he said the game was over and he was tired. As we got into the car, we turned on the radio broadcast of the game to hear the Rockets radio guy saying "I HOPE EVERYONE WHO LEFT THE GAME EARLY IS LISTENING TO THIS! THEY JUST MISSED ONE OF THE BEST COMEBACKS OF ALL TIME!" My dad went missing the next day.
That stretch is always bittersweet. I wish he could have done that in the playoffs and been immortal. I would have loved to see that McGrady and a younger, healthier Yao with the high caliber cast that Morey was able to assemble. Sigh.
