Good deal or not? I want at least 1 TB. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0041OSQ9S/ref=ord_cart_shr?ie=UTF8&m=ATVPDKIKX0DER Or will I see better holiday deals?
No advice here, but I just remembered I spent around 200+ for my 200 GB external years ago when they were still shaped like huge bricks. Damn.
You should always be able to find a 1TB drive for less than $100. I suspect the USB 3.0 makes that one a bit more special.
second this. several months ago i got a TB for $80. Its not terribly fast but it has a lot of memory.
http://shopping.dallasnews.com/ROP/ads.aspx?adid=10169929&advid=2519&type= Pretty compact size, also 1TB iomega portable external hd for $89 at fry's.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822148569 Seagate FreeAgent Go Ultra Portable 1TB hard drive? Seems pretty good. 99 bucks
I've had no trouble with my iomega 500. I've had it since last xmas. Wait till black friday, you'll find fantastic deals.
I'd say Seagate is on the lower end of dependability, afraid to say. I would know Seagate "click of death on youtube Mine is a couple years old 500 GB, not a newer model
I've had 2 Western Digital ones fail on me. Seagate has worked, but so has Buffalo and iOmega. Do not buy a Western Digital.
It doesn't really matter. You'll find people who swear (or have had bad experiences with) all of the 'major' brands: WD, Seagate, Toshiba, Samsung, etc. Everyone has a hard drive fail, some after three months, some after three years. It's really kind of a crapshoot.
exactly, I have 2 running right now, they are desktop externals though, not the ultra portable ones 1 320gb I got 4 years ago and still going strong which I never turn off unless I turn off my PC (which is rare) and a 1TB one I bought last black Friday for $60 at Target
Staples Cyber Monday will have a 2 TB External Hard Drive for only $69.99... Apparently, it's this WD one. http://www.staples.com/Western-Digi...logId=10051&cmArea=SEARCH&ddkey=StaplesSearch Seems like a killer deal to me... I'd take that in a heart beat. $69.99 + $5.01 filler + cost of coupon- $25 off $75 (Assuming you have the $25 off coupon) = $50.. It's also been reported that Cyber Monday deals from Staples may start on Sunday.
On Black Friday at Target, they are advertising 2tb desktop hard drive or 1 TB portable hard drive western digital elements for $69.
