Has anybody else noticed the new style of numbers that are on our jerseys?

I'm having a hard time finding a picture of them in any of the recent preseason games but the 2, 3, 5, and even 7s have been changed from the usual boxed type numbers they have been using. So instead of the number tow looking like a Z it looks like an actual 2.

Here's some examples of the old numbering, if anyone has these guys with the new style please post:

I'm thinking if they can make these minor changes couldn't they also change the cut of the jersey to the Miami Heat type? Our unis would look a lot better if so.

    Lock if posted.

I actually like em, you'll probably get used to them as the season goes.

These look a lot more like they're stitched on instead of that shiny plasticy looking material on the old red and grey old jerseys.

These are the only Rocket uniforms I officially recognize. On principle, I refuse to buy any Rocket gear unless it based on these uniforms...

This topic was started already before, but without 'contributing member' status, someone else would have to find it, or merge it with this thread.

Every team's jersey in the NBA has been changed to a new material/fabric. Just go to the NBA.com store, the Revolution 30 jerseys "A lighter uniform for a faster NBA," and you'll see. As for the Rockets, maybe they saw it as an opportunity to make a change towards a more traditional number font.

He's an example of a "2" actually looking like a "2" now as the OP has mentioned.

Personally, for as long as I have been complaining about the current Rockets jerseys, I think this subtle change will keep me quiet now.

they do need to bring back the original style/font...just change the red to the current shade to keep the red theme going and the current logo...yellow and red goes better with the chinese theme as well....then all that's left is widening the sleeves a bit, not as much as the current unis, but somewhere between that and the old style.

I'm not acknowledging that the Rockets' championships in '94 and '95 were anything short of awesome, but you should start living in the present.

It sucks because they are still hideous looking.

Worst jersey's in the NBA, 14 years and counting........

And when they win a championship in the current uniforms, then what?

The jersey doesn't make the champion, the champion makes the jersey.

And that's the thing, I bet back in the day TONS of people disliked the colors or plain-ness of the Rockets jerseys when they were bottom basement teams.

But once you win it, the jersey doesn't make you; you make the jersey.
