I wonder if they changed the number font for the alternate jerseys also. I'd rather they change the cut of the jerseys. The new font actually doesn't match now
I wouldn't be against the Rockets changing the uniform itself and also adopting the new college-style tight jerseys.
I agree, the cut should have been changed. There is just too much material over the sleeve. I'm a girl, so I can roll mine under my bra strap, but still. The number font appears to be more legible now I guess.
The font style of the jersey numbers changed. It went from space digital looking to more traditional looking. Actually, maybe Patterson had a jersey with no numbers. So they slapped on some number stickers for the photo shoot?
When they changed the jersey's that had the Rocket with Teeth, it was never the same for me. I mean c'mon man, It's like a Shark-Rocket! How could you not like that?
The cut, particularly in the shoulder area, is ridiculous as are those bizarre, thick, arcing double stripes on the jerseys and shorts. It makes the players look a little like Power Rangers or something. Not sure what the designer was thinking. I wasn't a big fan of the lettering/numbering but they were a non-issue compared to the cut.
I'm fine with the arches. Maybe they can take half an inch or an inch off, but I don't think it bothers me too much.
Compare to my Scola jersey's #4 on my Rockets jersey wall. The 4 is complete on the new ones. This pic also gives a view of some of the number font changes in the past. I don't know why my alternate Scola jersey says Rockets not Houston.
