Landry to the Kings does not work, because Landry only made about $2-3 mil. T-Mac was needed either way. It so happens that Larry Hughes contract was traded with Landry to make the salaries match.

If it was only Landry and filler to the Kings, then NY wouldn't have care. NY wanted T-Mac's contract. The Rockets were prepared to trade it to Sacramento.

Comparing a deal that was actually on the table to a trade that happened. It makes sense, because the Rockets were the ones doing the rejecting.

Billups deal would have the Rockets in the playoffs, last year. They wouldn't have gone anywhere with Yao out again. It would have been a short term benefit. The Rockets will have to blow it up or get another star next year anyway.

The NY deal gives us a chance at rebuilding with young talent, if the 2 picks are game changers.

So, you think if it was Billups only, the NY deal would be better, but if it was Billups and Hamilton, that Detroit deal would have been hands down better? Fine.

Of course we're better off that the Detroit deal fell through. Although I think Sean Elliott was a nice player, Big Shot Bob proved to be a Rocket legend. You think Elliott could've covered Barkley that well?!
