Can NBA players even say what they want anymore? The refs are calling bad calls. And it's not like a 35,000 dollar fine will hurt Dwight, that's how much money he makes for playing one game. What do you guys think?

It has become ridiculous with all these fines , we are know the integrity of the NBA refs :) .

NBA = where Amazing fines and calls happen :)

P.S : DH 12 bring the title to the Magic Kingdom V Thunder in the finals !

Fining players for criticizing the officiating is nothing new. And Stern made it clear a week back that's what would happen, at a minimum.

Agreed that there was no need for a fine here but if Dwight Howard is too stupid to realize that he was actually committing very obvious fouls then losing $35K is the least of his problems.

Just wondering if Darko Milicic (or any other player) said this about the NBA refs, what would be the fine?

1 million? Suspension for a 10 games? Full season suspension?

Are there any Serbs here who can confirm that these subtitles are accurate?

I'm Macedonian (country next to Serbia) and speak perfectly Serbian, so yes it's accurate (with some gramatical errors)...

I barely watched any of that series, so I can't say whether or not most of the foul calls were legit. I can, however, say that his fifth foul call in game 3 was absolutely horrible. Not quite "Joey Crawford on Marcus Camby" awful, but it was inexcusably bad.

Pretty sure if Darko said "If he has a daughter I will **** her hard too" it would have made ESPN or had a lot of articles written on it.

Intentionally misleading thread title. DH was fined for complaining about the refs. Whether it's on video, audio, or a blog we all know the results will be the same.

I wonder if Stern does any re-evaluations from these complaints or really believes it's just 'players being players.' He needs to wake up if it's the latter.

Some of those fouls were suspect...but alot of them were the result of Dwight's inability to get proper post position.

He just isn't good enough to do that consistently, Orlando needs to accept that.

I would really like to see athletes and coaches say whatever they want via whatever medium they want to use. This output control crap the leagues try to do is just such a put-off. It would make for more interesting and compelling sports, to be honest. And if you're a crappy enough parent to let your kid be influenced by it, or be personally offended yourself enough to not like the sport anymore, then that's your own problem. But the leagues will continue to try to be something they're not, a role model... all in the name of chasing an extra buck.
