I have seen a LOT of Texans guys (former and current) around Pearland eateries, and I know a couple Astros guys live here too and a few former Rockets players. I am guessing they would pick Pearland over Sugar Land because it is a much shorter drive to downtown and medical center, so it is more strategically located. There are some really nice homes around the Shadow Creek subdivision of town. But yah you cant beat suburban life and yet be less than 15 miles away from the TC
Uhh... because Sugar Land is a suburb of Houston. I ultimately live in Houston.. I'm one mile away from Harris County (on the border between Fort Bend and Harris)... why are you bringing this up anyway?
Actually median household income is not much different in the two suburbs, Pearland just happens to have a more educated and professional population since a LOT of the people living here work in the medical center or downtown and want mini mansions to raise their kids. I am guessing Sugar Land has more business savvy people? Pearland is also much smaller and newer than Sugar Land. A lot of people have remarked to me that Pearland is about 10 years behind Sugar Land in development since the population is much smaller but booming in numbers. It is also why most people I know who buy here say this is a much better area to invest than Sugar Land because property values will certainly go up with time.
I live in Pearland and the only Rockets player I've seen so far was Pops when he was still on the team. We bumped into him at the Krogers on 518 and Cullen. He was buying flowers and didn't want to disturb him so my gf just yelled 'Hey Pops!' No other encounters so far in Pearland for me.
i saw moses malone at the Luby's Cafeteria in Stafford he must live in Sugarland also. I know hakeem, mcgrady, yao live in sugarland. I think i've heard of Matt Malony living in sugarland as well. btw doesn't pearland flood alot? come hurricane season.
Scola lives in Shadow Creek Ranch. He has a pretty nice house with one of those man made lakes behind his house. My sister who lives in Shadow Creek Ranch has seen him out and about the neighborhood with his family a few times. Nope. Sorry you don't. Your mayor isn't Annise Parker.

So.......... A Luis Scola sighting has turned into a pissing match between what city is better? Seriously? 3rd grade all over... My bike is better than yours. Yeah but your mom is huge...
All I started with was.. Big athletes... such as Roger Clemens and Tracy McGrady live(d) in Sugar Land... because it's a safer and a richer area.
Wow somebody is a douchebag...Houston sports players choose city's not based on rich and luxury. They pick it for schools, drive time (pearland is 15 minutes away from toyota center) and places they feel is a good fit for their family. Chuck hayes and luis scola both and for some reason marcus camby and shaq have homes in pearland. I don't think those players give a care about your so called luxury. Is your target more upscale than pearand's or missouri city's? Where do you think they go for food?
I'm sure they do... I didn't say they just looked at that point... I just said star athletes tend to live in Sugar Land... David Carr (not that he was a star but was pretty big here his first season or two) lived in Sugar Land... Tracy lives in Sugar Land.. Clemens lived in SL... Hakeem's always lived here.. So has Moses. I'm not bragging... just responding to when the OP said (dare I say most).
Lucky b*stard. I've only met David Wesley at the Oliver Garden in Pearland and John Lucas III at one of the car shows in Houston. Said hi to David but didn't know what to say to Lucas. Hey Lucas you look bigger on TV. How was it like to have a father addicted to cocaine???
So I guess Lowry took a flight to Philly for the holidays. Guessing he will meet back up with the team for the Nets game on the 26th. I was under the assumption that they all flew to Philly, but really that's not necessary as they can fly out tomorrow evening from Houston. Ah well, cool beans seeing Scola.
Yo real talk... I met Chuck Hayes at Wal Mart today in Missouri City....shook his hand and exchanged a "merry christmas" to one another and that was about it...nice enough to say something like that to a random fan... glad i aint have to make a thread...thanks ari haha
