no he wants people to compare him to all players and not just white players, therefore he made it clear that it was acceptable to compare him to a black player even though he is white

Reggie Miller - Yao will become more like Z than we imagine. He will be reduced to setting a thick pick for a thin man on the perimeter, over and over again.....

I know what he meant, but he specifically said black players.

Therefore, he is on the same level as those who compare Chase to white players.

Like the say, small minds are occupied by small things.........like "race" in this instance.

Let's pretend to be all trendy and progressive by putting "race" in quotes!

News flash...when the Nba is almost exclusively black and white, when you stop comparing a white player to other white players, you're going to have to compare him to black ones. Are you really that aghast that the OP neglected all three mexicans and asians as topics for comparison?

From what we've seen of Budinger so far, he's demonstrated very good perimeter shooting and overall high scoring efficiency.

Here are the top 10 forwards in NBA history in TS%, with at least 500 3-pointers made and who shot at least 37% from beyond the arc for their career.

If we narrow the above results to players who are 6'6 to 6'10 (somewhat close to Budinger's size), we have:

    Code:
    [B]Rk Player G MP FG% 3P% FT% TS%[/B]

Please note that I did not select the "white boy" filter in the above search. And yet, it so happens that 8 players out of 12 above are white. Maybe there's a reason Budinger is mostly compared to other white players beyond his skin color.

I see you misunderstood my post.........I found it ironic that the OP wants people to forget about Chase's "race" when comparing him to other players but then, in the same post, spins around and picks a "race" of players he must be compared to.

The irony is too sweet to pass up.

    *********

As for the quotation marks around "race", I don't do that to be trendy. I do that because "race" is nothing more than a social construct that has little biological basis. It fails to take into account a person true ethnicity and classifies them based on a physical feature.

As a biology student.......I can't put too much stock into it.

I'd compared him to Rip Hamilton during SL because of the way he was moving without the ball, coming off screens, catching and shooting. Reggie Miller works, too. Whatever, I'm glad he's on our team.

Hahaha. Well done durvasa, I love your stats for everything. Also I'm pleasantly surprised that Shane Battier's in the top 10 all time for that.
