Our team sounds eerily familiar to the Kings and Hawks running styles nowadays. Two running Euro style shooting players at the big positions. One lightning quick guard and his fastbreak counterpart from the Lakers. The usual spot up three guy on the fast break in Battier. Budinger, Landry, Lowry, and Taylor all sound like running and gunning to me. I think this is Adelman creeping into the Rockets more now. Hopefully Yao gets back and Tmac adds something to this. it could be exciting if we had those guys to go with this style. However they are kinda a contradiction to that style so my guess is Tmac is still being shopped all year and still definately leaves.

Its about time we had a guy on the roster who doesn't stare directly into Yao's chest when they look at each other.

    Good pick up.

6'11" and a pulse.......and everybody else is still here.

    Great :D

This move seems to mean two things to me:

    1. Whatever info Morey and all have indicates that Yao will be back by next year, at least close to if not at his level when healthy the past few years.

    2. Whichever "star player" or semi-star player we pick up over the next 15 months will be by trade, not via free agency.

I'd disagree. I think it has everything to to do with Andersen being the ONLY starting level C who's available for less than the MLE.

I'm glad that we're actually doing something. I was worried for a little while. I still am, but it looks like there is some sort of backup plan.

Now if we can only snag Caron Butler somehow :)

I'm speechless. If you're a Dorsey fan (and no, I don't get it) you should just start dreaming about 2010-2011 when he'll either play actual real minutes or probably be out of the league.

Until today we didn't have a healthy center and Morey had already said Dorsey's not a rotation guy this year even before SL was over. I mean doesn't that tell you how far away Dorsey is?

If Andersen does start this year, this will be a heck of a deal, but he'll have to earn it. Dorsey isn't even on any realistic depth chart.

It's something. It looks like he will be in the high post and Scola will be our main post-up guy.

He can bring the other team's opposing center out of the paint for the guards to penetrate...

Not bad for giving up nothing at all. Without trading one single player we have brought in possibly four that will make the team so far and still have the MLE!

    Ariza, Andersen, Budinger and Taylor...

His shot will get blocked when he is near the basket at times, perhaps even frequently but he isn't as slow as Marks. He is more skillful than him offensively, but Marks can rebound better.I think he might be able to adjust to NBA speed eventually, defense and rebounding will be a big problem for him.

Is it just me or does he look kinda like Chris Andersen? Same last name too..

Hopefully he plays as good as Birdman.

Mark my words Yao will be back before season end. In fact I wouldn't be surprised to see him back shortly after the All star break.

Me either, his D and rebounding looks pretty bad from what analysts say.

I guess beggers can't be choosers though. At least he can hit a jump shot, that will help.
