This guy is good and gonna be GREAT. Easily the most impressive rookie I've seen this year, Gasol included. Dallas Rocket
Richardson did not just look good because Mobley was guarding him. Like statistics would show, he's no longer the 13.3 ppg scorer that one who wouldn't know better would look in the newspaper and see. Richardson had a few big games early in the season, but MANY single digit games, that makes his average take a hit. However, in mid-December, Richardson took off, scoring in double digits in just about every game, and since mid-February, Richardson has really exploded. Below are some samples of some of his better more recent games. In his last 10 games (where he has been healthy and played over 30 minutes) Richardson has averaged 22.3 ppg. 3/02/02 Rockets: 10-17 FG, 10-11 FT, 2-4 3PT, 32 points 3/07/02-2/27/02: Injured between this time, only played on 3/1 for just 21 mins 2/27/02 Nuggets: 9-14 FG, 3-4 FT, 2-4 3PT, 23 points 2/22/02 Bucks: 16-22 FG, 0-0 FT, 3-5 3PT, 35 points 2/19/02 Nets: 11-21 FG, 2-4 FT, 1-5 3PT, 25 points 2/17/02 Hawks: 6-15 FG, 6-10 FT, 2-5 3PT, 20 points 2/15/02 Spurs: 11-19 FG, 3-5 FT, 3-7 3PT, 28 points
Add this to Jason Richarson's totals: 9-17FG for 21 points against the Mavs tonight. Man, those guys are playing better. The Warriors had 5 guys in double figures and another with 9 points! They certainly aren't a pushover any more.
