um usually you don't improve that much after 3 consecutive years with injuries. offensively, he has never been as good as the end of the 05-06 season and he has not shot near 55% for a while now. i've think we've seen the best from yao offensively, but that doesn't mean he can't still be a superstar (tmac's offense isn't as good as it was in his prime but he does other things). yao should try to dominate rebounding and become a feared shotblocker, and more importantly passing out of double teams. we don't need yao to score 25 pts to win. we need to him to get more rebounds and pass better out of double teams to stop stagnating the offense when he gets doubled. if he can do those things, he'll elevate a lot more.
Stupidity must be your middle name. if you saw both of them play the answer is so clearOne won the NBA Championship twice, the other isn't even in his prime yet. Ask me in three years time, my answer might change.
Well, you never know. There is a minor chance that Yao become better than Hakeem, thou the probability is ultimately close to zero.

Geez, Is this poll really serious? And for those who say that if Yao wins 3 rings, you might change your mind? Are you insane? Look at the type of player. Talk to me when Yao plays defense like Dream did. Talk to me when Yao has the arsenal of moves that Dream did. Talk to me when Yao carries a team by HIMSELF to a title. If Yao doesn't do ALL OF THE ABOVE, he can't be mentioned in the same UNIVERSE as Olajuwon. Here is a nickel. Can you buy a freakin clue already?
QFT. it's like saying if tmac wins 3 rings, he's the best rocket ever. hell no. dream may have won only 2 rings, but it doesn't matter if tmac and yao win more rings than him, he'll always be the best player to ever wear a rockets jersey. winning can sometimes overrate players. if you WATCH the game, you know that both of the stars we have today do not come close to dominating on both sides like dream did. DUDE LED THE LEAGUE IN STEALS once for god sakes.
Hakeem would rather play in todays NBA without a question. He would rather play in a league where 6'9" players call themselves centers. Center postions filled with a bunch of nobodies !! Hakeem would want to play in a league that calls 'sneeze' fouls.
