Nada, big disappointment after a preseason where he showed a little promise. Slowest and least athletic player on the squad whose offensive game is hindered by his these weaknesses. Adelman will try to get a better look at him this season than JVG but I wouldn't be surprised if they cut him or send him down to the NBDL.

Let us hope for the best! Novac may not recover from last season under the non rookie scenario of JVG. If he does, I don't expect him to be playing any more than 10 mins. a game. He will be brought in to boost scoring, when needed. His role is and will be spot up three point shooter. Coach'A' certainly knows how to use this type of player. There is a small chance that he might be traded as part of a package.

I expect Adelman to be creative in his rotations at the 3,4 and 2 with Bonzi, T-Mac, Battier (if he's not traded) that I would hope he will make sure to create about 10-14 MPG for Novek at the 3 assuming we have a strong shot blocking/altering presense at the 4. Bullard's game was limited but he played a very important role for the Rox and to NOT keep Novak and play him regularly would be as stupid as not drafting Lewis with 3 number one picks, and drafting EG for our 3 #1's. Adelman must not only keep Novak, but play him regularly off the bench and I expect at least 8ppg and high 48% from beyond the arc. There will be room made in the rotation for Novak and if it isn't this team has it's head up it's a$$.... Dude's crucial and can no longer be neglected for his 3pt range.

If he is going to play he needs to pack on 20 pounds of muscle and improve his lateral quickness. Novack has a shot to play as a spot duty shooter I say he will average 6.7 points and 2.3 rebounds in about 15 minutes a game. He looked great in summer league and servicable in preseason last year and I do think he is better than Bullard just doesn't have a shot blocker like Hakeem to cover all his defense deficiancies like Matt had.

I don't expect much from him. The guy's a stick and a below average athelete in the NBA. Other than the fact he can shoot, there's not much upside about the kid. Beefing him up will slow him down even more, so might as well as make him into a third string center.

I think the key with Novak is not how many MPG he gets but to get consistent MPG and to have a lineup that will, like the previous poster said, cover up his defensive liabilities like Dream did for Bull. Don't forget, Novak is a coaches son and no doubt has a high basketball IQ, and has excellent footwork for a man his size. Play him regularly and don't yank him if his D doesn't come around right away

Mark my words this guy will have some clutch shots in big games.

Yes he may not play well for a full season but he will have his Steve Kerr/Paxon type moment at some point. We don't need his speed or athleticism or rebounding, we just need him to make 3 pointers at a high percentage.

I rather see him take all the wide open 3s instead of Rafer throwing bricks.

I'd be curious to know Adelman's history of sending young players down to the NBDL. If he does, I wouldn't mind having Novak play a little while down there. That way, Novak could get some regular minutes instead of hoping to catch a few spare minutes every couple of weeks.

I really think JLIII and Novak would be more effective players if they spent a little time next year in the NBDL, although I think JLIII doesn't need as much PT to be effective as a third-string PG.

    His Pre-Season Numbers looked promising...

    24.5 Minutes Per Game
    12.1 PPG
    53% FG
    48% 3 FG
    92% FT

If he played 25 Minutes Per Game, Then he might have some nice production. Maybe, around 9-10 PPG.

Wasn't Novak averaging like 7 fouls per game in those 24 minutes. I remember him having a game where he had 8 fouls!!

The guy can flat out shoot the ball but his lack of defense (and I mean zero defense) will make it hard for any coach to play him.

Well, That was the summer league team. Those stats are from the real NBA Pre-Season. He averaged 1.6 Fouls in the pre-season.

you guys cant even decide what position novak is...hes a 4 on offense and a nothing on defense and rebounding...you dont want 3's with quickness guarding novak...hes a great shooter...maybe the best in the league...but hes not peja

Adelman likes to spread the offense, so he might put Novak in there as a 4 to exploit opposing defenses with his sweet three-point shot. Novak still needs to bulk up a bit and he isn't much of a rebounder but I think he can still develop. He should definitely play more under Adelman than JVG.
