I heard this was the Ipod killer, does anyone have one? I don't think there's been a topic on this, if so, apology.

the hardware itself is very nice, I definitely like the Zune's buttons a lot more than the Ipod's circular one where you have to spin it around with your finger. I hate that crap however, the software for the Zune that you have to install really sucks ass right now. I would probably wait for the second generation, or at the very least a few months to see if they can improve the app
I'm having some issues installing the software onto my computer with the disk. I tried installing it on 2 computers and it did not work. At first, I thought the CD was defected. I tried installing it from online and it did not work. I hope there are other music softwares that supports Zune. I'm thinking about returning my Zune.
McGrady, you read my mind. I've been researching MP3 players lately and came close to buying the Zune. I am kind of glad I waited b/c I found the Creative Zen and will probably go with that. All the reviews rave about the video quality, ease of loading videos and music as well as the extra features such as the calendar, tasks scheduler, alarm clock, etc... I see that Circuit City has the 30 GB for $199.00. Anyone else have this? Any advice?
my counsin has a 30gb model, he loves it. i played with it some and the interface was pretty cool, and i liked the larger screen. i like my 30gb ipod as well, but the extra features like fm radio, and wireless transfer may lead me to buy a zune for my next mp3 player.
The iPod is the top seller for a reason....It just works. There are also some rumors that a new video model may be coming out on Jan 8. Otherwise you can get a Certified Apple refurbished 30g for $179 on Apple.com
all three of them are pretty much the same **** different name. i have a zune, which i bought because it's practically unbreakable and it doesn't scratch up like the other two. never put in a case and have dropped it in the gym multiple times, and it still looks brand new. i have the extended warrany so i've been a little less protectant of it then i should be, but it's held up great anyways. the other thing i like is that the album art is HUGE on the screen and i got really attached to that when i was demoing it. it is no ipod killer though, don't buy into that nonsense. honestly you might as well get the creative zen if all things seem equal to you because i've yet to read a bad review on it, other than some freezing problems. it's got the best and brightest screen and will play practically anything you throw at it. ipod and zune will as well but with some converting.
To be fair, there always is a rumor a new video model may be coming at the Apple Shows Buy a CD player fool: enjoy your music.
I am concerned about the format incompatibilities. Apparently it doesn't play songs purchased from iTunes. I am cool with the that. But it will play bittorrent and limewire downloaded songs right? Thanks in advance.
Can somebody tell me the answer to this question yes/no maybe: Can I stream music wirelessly (or wiredly) via the zune to the xbox360? This is all I need to know.
I think you can. Thatd be sweet. Anyone know about the Archos media player? I need something not iPod in the worst way.
anybody know about the Wireless Transfer feature? I heard that its only active on the other person's Zune for 3 days? what kind of crap is that?
I thought the technical term was "squirt", and that you got 3 days or 3 plays. God, Microsoft sure knows how to cripple the only cool feature they have.
i have a creative zen micro photo 8 gig... very nice i like it alot. alot more features than ipods. and i got it over a year ago.
yes. i plug the zune right into the 360 all the time. but i think tinman is correct, you can connect any mp3 player through usb and it will work. you can control and create playlists off the zune using just the 360. not sure if that's the same if you connect an ipod. zune is a good mp3 player. it's no ipod killer but it's the same ****.
as far as i can tell no wireless. i pulled this up but i think it's just from the zune software on the computer not the actual zune. http://www.zune.net/en-us/support/howto/start/streamtoxbox.htm
