The Zune pricing has officially been unvelied! What do you guys think? Are any of you looking forward to maybe getting a Zune once it launches around November 14? Source: http://www.zuneuser.com
i'm not in the market for an mp3 player but a 30gb ipod is also 299 i believe so i'd atleast look at this one before i bought an ipod. i like how big the screen looks though i wonder how clear it is.
Yes, making an industry out of copying something and then marketing/leveraging themselves into 1st place. As the song says, "Nobody does it better..."
You shouldn't buy the first batch of Microsoft's bastardizations. The second generation is always better and costs almost as much as the first. One thing Microsoft is good at in this game is fixing key mistakes. Who wants to be a guinea pig for 300 bucks?
I don't. In terms of pricing is that the same cost for a 30 gig Ipod? In any case, I expect this to have a rocky launch, but who knows.
I don't know, Microsoft is putting a hella lot of money into this and they just might have something half-decent. I think it should sell decently at launch, but not overtake the iPod for a good while at least.
Microsoft just doesn't get it. The iPod is so strong because of it's simplicity. It plays music. Plain and simple. Okay, video too. Adding wi-fi is a waste of time. I remember Steve Jobs commenting on that years ago. They don't add it to the iPod because there's no reason to. Syncing songs via wi-fi would be great if you weren't going to have to plug the thing in anyway. Same will all the other crap that's getting thrown in to these things, radio, etc. Simply adding features that will mostly go unused will not make a superior product. As it stands I can't see this thing seriously competing with the current (year old) iPod.
excellent post. i also think the name "Zune" is godawful. i dont think iPod has anything to worry about. EDIT: what needs to come out is an iPod with XM or Sirius connectivity. imagine having the ability to play either your songs or hopping on satelite radio, especially if you like to listen to some of the talk stations. that would sell like hotcakes. pay for the monthly service and the iPod also acts as the satelite receiver that you could plug into your car or at home.
I've been looking for a decent alternative to the iPod since I sold my 20GB 4th gen a year ago. I finally found one that I love. Just purchased it last night: http://www.sandisk.com/Products/Catalog(1166)-SanDisk_Sansa_e200_Series_MP3_Players.aspx I think this thing easily beats the iPod nano for less money. I would consider buying an iPod again if they ever start supporting the subscription based music services.
Looks nice. If the battery isn't as ****ty as Ipod's (when watching videos), then I might get one of these. That and it's "optimized" for video. Apparently the Zune has the ability to do this. The site said it can connect with XM radio. That would be badass. I'd really get one then.
