If TMac and Yao stay healthy, the Rockets are going to be in the playoffs. Having Battier or Gay + Swift isn't going to change that. Even if Gay isn't a future all-star, he can still be a young, athletic role player that can put up the same type of numbers that Battier does. He would have a cheaper contract than Battier and he would be an asset we can include in a trade if things don't work out.
