The Magic beat the Knicks 111-87 but Bob Hill benched Dwight Howard in favor of Darko. Dwight Howard didn't do nothing bad so why was he benched? Makes no sense.
Brian Hill, you mean. Hmmm, wonder whats that about, maybe late for practice? I hear he is like a hardcore religious person and it kinda showed when they were following him All-Star Weekend for their all access thingy... EDIT: heh, guess I was right. Thats pretty leniant compared to JVG who's benched Swift for the whole game for the same ordeal.
Darko might be a player in the near future. Every time I check Magic's stats, he has 2-3 blocks every game.
Why don't they just start Darko at center? He can play center better than Battie. They also have Fran Vasquez in Spain. They got some young big bodies and a lot of cap room. Otis Smith deserves a lot of credit.
Darko better than D. Howard? No way. D. Howard is the next KG, you can quote me on that, the kid is an absolute beast.
They won't get anything from Battie off the bench, but they'll get something from him if he starts in the 1st and 3rd quarters. They know they'll get impactful play from Darko wherever they play him.
I think it's a brilliant strategy! Maybe Hill is trying to turn him into a 28/15 guy... http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=110616 Sorry, couldn't resist...
That's only if Fran Vaquez ever decides to come over to the NBA. Didn't he decline to do so this year and sign a long term contract with his team in Europe?
Dwight will be leaving in the next few years anyway Orlando cannot keep Franchise Players Shaq, Penny, Tmac, Stevie, Dwight, etc The list will go on Rocket River
He's indeed a VERY devout Christian. Saw an interview with him shortly before he was drafted and he said his biggest goal for his NBA career was to get a cross added to the NBA logo. And he was serious. I've got a pretty good idea what David Stern would have to say about that.
So, D. Howard is the next "most overrated underacheiver in the NBA"? J/k http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=110513
Dwight Howard is more Tim Duncan than Garnett because he's more than willing to play strong in the post (as opposed to KG who is all fadeaways). Dwight is going to be a dominant force for a long time. Darko might not be the same type of dominating, but he's going to be the perfect compliment to Dwight. He'll drain jumpers to keep the other bigs honest and not collapse on Dwight, and he'll team up to control the paint on defense. Darko won't score 20 a night or lead the league in rebounding, but he might lead it in blocks and provide something like 15 and 8 in his prime along with all-league defense. Great trade by Orlando.
Eventually they'll have DHoward at the 5 and Darko at the 4. Monsters on defense, solid on offense with inside/outside. Jameer at the point getting them the ball and playing a good floor game. They only have 2 holes really...and their current guys fit their bench pretty well. They're as good as the Rockets are in terms of building a future (we have holes at the 2 and 4 pretty much...if our current guys move to the bench, the bench is fine) EDIT: when I say that, I do think the Rockets have more talent amongst the 3 set positions. But just trying to say they're not far behind
