Let me first say that I am a long time lurker but after what has transpired the this year with this team, I had to post. Living in San Antonio, I have to hear about how great the Spurs are, etc. Unfortunately, it's true. It gets very tiring seeing how successful they are and how they seem to just plug a few pieces in each year (outside of Parker, Gonoboli, and Duncan), and compete for a championship (i.e. coaching/Mgmt anyone???). For the Rockets, it's Jeckyl and Hyde. I have been a life-long Rockets fan but some serious changes are in need - the problem is, where do you start? I agree with the sentiment that seems to be prevalent on this board, where is the fire and passion?? It seems that they just go through the motions and if they win, great and if not, oh well. This is obvious, but we need some young blood out there. Where is the european talent (I am not sure if we have drafted/scouted for any players)? Several NBA teams seem to have moderate or good success with those players. Why do we continually seem to plug in old players or players that other teams did not want for obvious reasons (excluding Bogans, Sura, Barry)? I just hope that Rockets Mgmt sees the writing on the wall and that some serious changes are in need after this year. I know that we've been hit with the injury bug this year but there is absolutely no reason this team should not be competitive with the top 5 teams in the NBA starting next season. C'mon Rockets, get your crap together
Yeah, I'll agree to throwing a little money for overseas talent evaluation. It would be nice to have Sauranas Jas........ from the pacers. Great Shooter. But, Honestly, we the champsionship since 95 and its pretty tough to retool our roster and add pieces like Mcdyess or Finely because they are contenders. Hell, GP wouldn't come here since we're not true contenders. I think if we made it to WCF or Finals, we could pull some smart veteran's on to the roster. Drafting Head was a big plus in the right direction. He'll round out nicely. But we somehow need to get more pieces to the puzzle. We still need a consistent 4 and good swingman. Wes is gettin older, and is still short. I don't want to plug in bogans as a starter, and we need someone to take the pressure off of Tmac and Yao. $1.00-.98=.$0.02
I don't disagree with your opinions, but... http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=108791 http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=108930 http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=108926 http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=108922
watching the first half last night was mind-boggling. that was as bad an ass-whooping as i've ever seen.... we lost that game around the 6:00 mark of the first quarter. i never gave up hope this season and just bided my time waiting for us to get healthy, but last night was an eye opener, plain and simple. they cashed in in the 2nd freakin quarter last night!!! that's inexcuseable. where do we go from here??? i know it's just one game, but for a team that needs to be bringing it EVERY NIGHT til the end of the season, a performance like that is sickening. i am starting to think JVG may be the problem...
I am a fellow Rocket fan living in San Antonio, so I relate very well to what you are saying and experiencing...
I agree 100%. This was absolutely not acceptable and like you, I am thinking that the root of the problem is JVG. Well, there's that old saying something to the effect of "S*** flows downhill and starts from the top"
