Even if we some how make a push and slip into the playoffs, we will still get detroyed by the mavs, suns and spurs. I think what is best for are franchise is to let are team heal to a 100%.

    1. Let the youngsters play as much as possible including Swift so that we can try to move his stock up, so that he has more trade value.

    2. Let Mcgrady and Ming play limited minutes so that niether gets hurt again, and each can have a better shot at being sucssesful NEXT SEASON!

    3. AND IF NDADRAFT.NET IS CORRECT STAY WHERE WERE ARE IN THE STANDINGS AND DRAFT RUDY GAY!!

Some times you just need to know when to throw in the towel, this has not been are year in many different aspects.

But if you look on the brightside, San Antonio had this problems a couple of years back and got lucky and drafted a guy named Tim Duncan..............everything happens for a reason.............................we could be next!

If we keep Head and draft Gay, this forum will be full of bad puns for months. If this is the case, I am in favor of tanking because I want to get Gay.

Yes, I totally agree that the rocks should tank anytime there is any adversity.

Look how good the clippers are this year. See? It works.

I'm sure that (fill in any potential rookie player's name here) will turn this team from being first round fodder to contender again. Pray that we get him!!!!!!

its called tanking and there is no reason to tank the season i think, its going to be hard but i would be VERY disappointed if the team was healthy and decided to quit.

the more tracy and yao play together the better they'll gel, so far they've played something like 16 games total this season together. sitting them down isnt going to help their chemistry along with the stayers (alston, head, hayes?,swift) maybe this season maybe a lost cause as for the playoffs but we certainly dont need to tank to make next season "bright."

Gay is very raw still but has tones of potential and he has the body to be a great defender in the future:

    Ming
    Mcgrady
    Gay
    Head
    Alston
    Hayes

that would be a nice group of young guys to build around

I'd rather have Rodney Carney than Gay. Less upside, but four years of college experience so you know what you're going to get: decent shooter with great defense. Isn't that what we need?

Yup, then we will beat teams such as Dallas (Dirky) or Memphis (Pauly) as if they were dead horses. :D

at this point i think it's silly to keep playing mac heavy minutes and now yao. just call it a day. i suspect that in the condition they are in that we still won't be able to go on the kind of run we need to make the playoffs (ideally 6th or 7th seed because 8th is worse than winning the lottery). i think it's too late and the only thing that can happen now is people start talking about what losers our guys are. at least if mac and yao are on the shelf we have a legit reason for our failures and the season is simply looked upon as one of bad luck (that could turn into good luck by getting a top 3 pick).

Man, this is such a fresh topic. Thank you so much for posting about this, I really was not informed about this kind of feeling.

Call it quits before the season is already over? NOT SMART! :p

we still have 1% oppotunity to get into playoff: Only if we make a 9-straight win before the all-star game

    go TMAC and YAO!

Who says if we make it in we will be clobbered by those teams. There is a reason that the playoffs are played. You don't just look at who had the best record, or which team is better on paper and give them the trophy.

Once a team is in the playoffs anything can happen.

    1. With all the injuries the young guys have gotten plenty of playing time. It isn't like they have been hurting for it. It is better to continue. Plus with all the pt they have been getting, that could help us in the playoffs should one of them be asked to step up.

    2. The team has a lot of new faces, and if we want to get better now or next season they should start developing chemistry, which means playing WITH both Yao and Tracy.

I think what is best is to instill in our team the idea that losing is never acceptable. Go with your best chance of winning. To give young guys the idea that we don't have to win, is sending the wrong message and won't make our team better in the future.

Make a run now, and punch, claw, kick and work our way into the playoffs. Once we are there anything can happen.

Plus I think playoff experience is more valuable to our team than tanking experience.
