Well, disco was kind of its own little world. People that listened to disco didn't listen to anything else. Plus, people think disco dominated the entire decade when it was really only popular for about three years at the end. When you think of every horrible aspect of the past seven or eight years of music, they all had their origins in the 80's. Boy groups (New Kids on the Block, New Edition) No talent female dimbulbs (Madonna, Debbie Gibson, Tiffany) Wannabe p***y hip hop artists (Tone Loc, DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince, MC Hammer) Three cord cheeseball pseudo-gay rock (Tears For Fears, Huey Lewis and the News, Men at Work) The 80's were definitely a love it or hate it decade as far as music went. Personally, I love 80's music. That may explain why I'm so weird...
With the exception of Shout, Tears for Fears put together some pretty complex pop arrangements. Most fans of Euro-styled pop music put them in the same category with XTC, World Party and others fitting that retro Beatles/Beach Boys pop thing.
Let's not jump to conclusions, now. There are some things in this mysterious universe that can never be explained. -- droxford
Well, then please replace Tears for Fears with Robert Palmer before I look like a dumbass...oh wait, it's far too late for that.
You know your problem, A-Train? You refuse to do it, but eventually, You're Gonna Have to Face It, You're Addicted to Love.
Here's a good Trivia Question: What was the inspiration for "Shout"? by tears for fears. Hint-same inspiration for the name "Tears For Fears."
I think a lot of what killed that was punk rock itself. Rolling Stones made disco records... Boy groups (Jackson 5, Monkees, Bee Gees) No talent female dimbulbs (Debbie Boone, Cher) Wannabe p***y hip hop artists (that was party rap!) Three cord cheeseball pseudo-gay rock (Iron Butterfly, David Cassidy, Leif Garret)

Good list! Do you know who sings "Feel like a Stranger in a Strangers World?" I'm not even sure of the name of the song. But that's the chorus. Judging from your lists I figured you'd be a good person to ask. And Harley David Son of a *****!
