Who was worth the pick? Stoudamire was the only other player in the draft who is comparable. Despite the hype, he benefits tremendously from the Suns run and gun offense and Nash's presence. He is not a great rebounder, passer, shot blocker or overall defender. He is is great at receiving passes down low and dunking the crap out of the ball. His game is still way too limited for anyone to declare him a much better player than Yao. If you were to go back and look at all then possible scenarios, getting Yao was probably the best we couldve done. Don't forget that one of the biggest reasons we got McGrady was because of his dersire to play with Yao.
Has any real Rox fan ever claimed he was Chinese Jesus? You seem to be fixated on this term for some reason. That sounds like your own advertising and expectations. I expected him to be 15 and 8 by his 3rd year, so he hasn't underachieved in my book.

I chose players who didn't go to college because the watered down talent pool and the competition is comparable to Chinese basketball. You still have the chance to trade Yao for some players you think were worth the pick, like Mike Dunleavy , Drew Gooden, or even Jay Williams.
