Nicholas Singleton broke his foot before the Senior Bowl. Considering what we've been through with Mixon I am doubtful that Caserio will risk it here. Former Penn State RB Nick Singleton suffers broken foot before Senior Bowl | WETM - MyTwinTiers.com https://share.google/C8WCxKR9sMY3UD4MD
I listen to a lot of mock drafts and many prognosticators have us taking Kadyn Procter at 28. However, I also run a lot of my own mocks on PFN and PFF and he's never available at that spot. So, who do you believe?
Mocked my favorite one yet. I'm still really liking what happens when we grab a weapon in the first round if someone like Boston or Sadiq is there. There is a lot of desire to go DL or OL, but what follows is still solid and I love the upside of aggressively working to upgrade our weapons: 28. Kenyon Sadiq - TE 38. Monroe Freeling - OT 59. Domonique Orange - DT 69. Jonah Coleman - RB 106. Keylan Rutledge - IOL 128. Taurean York - LB (debated here with grabbing Pat Coogan for C, but hoped he'd last....alas....) 165. Beau Stephens - IOL Gravy picks for fun and alignment for whatever gaps coaches still think remain 243. Aaron Anderson - WR 244. Nadame Tucker - Edge York vs. Coogan was my personal hardest choice as I think Coogan is that midround guy that could be an answer for us at center if we don't grab one in FA. But Sadiq continues to fall into our territory and not forcing a DL/OL, the board still played out nicely and it showed investment in top tier talent with him and Coleman as two of the top four picks while still securing needs later. Anderson could be a nice value pick at the end of the draft if someone like Sadiq didn't fall there. Other times I've seen guys like Denzel Boston there at 28 and grabbing him did similar favors for us. Often then the choice of RB came at 59 (do you go Jadarian Price at the expense of a sliding OL/DL?) or do you pick for need and hope an RB you covet is still there at 69?
28. Houston Texans Caleb Banks, IDL, Florida Florida defensive tackle Caleb Banks was among the winners at this year's Senior Bowl. The Houston Texans are a natural fit for his toughness and production. The Texans could improve the interior of their defensive line, with a prospect like Banks supporting what Danielle Hunter and Will Anderson Jr. achieve on the edges.
Washington and Price are both worth 2-38 IMHO. Sweet feet/great vision/Can run with power/catch the ball/are threats to score anytime they touch the ball. My 2 favorite RB's after Love and it's close with Love.
1.28 - Emmanuel Pregnon, Oregon LG 2.38 - Christen Miller, Georgia DT 2.59 - Jake Golday, Cincinnati LB 3.69 - Austin Barber, Florida OT 4.106 - Logan Jones, Iowa C 4.128 - Caden Curry, Ohio State Edge 5.165 - Tyren Montgomery, JCU WR 7.243 - Dean Connor, U of H RB 7.244 - Kendal Daniels, Oklahoma LB/S In FA I'd full court press for Tyler Allgeier (RB/Atlanta) & Charlie Kolar (TE/Baltimore) and re-sign Ingram with money saved by cutting Mixon and Schultz.
This kid is growing on me. If we could get him at #38 and he becomes our RT, we have young bookends. Giving how he's shooting up boards, we may need to get him at #28. Monroe Freeling is a true Jr who became a FT starter last year, he's creeping up boards and is a big boy. With 2 of our first 4 picks, I really want a LG and C that are big nasty attitude types that you want by your side in an alley fight--Pregnon, Dunker, and Rutledge. Ideally, I'd like Rutledge to play C for us and that would give us a stout, tough mauler to help wall off the middle of our line. Value at #28 is likely at DT or even LB, but if Ty Simpson is still on the board I could see someone like the Jets or Cards making us an offer to get ahead of the Rams. You know Cas is gonna want to trade into the 2nd. Brings up an interesting and likely controversial thought, if Simpson is there at #28, would you consider trading CJ to Jets or Cards for 2nd in 2026 and a 1st in 2027? I haven't watched enough of Simpson to form an opinion, but the likelihood that Jets or Cards 2027 is in Top 5 is pretty high. I think I make that trade because I can't see committing a big contract to Stroud as our long-term QB.
