The Lack of meaningful death, wasn't disappointing but did not lessen the "impact" of the ending. 18 months later . . . Life goes on almost no reach consequences. Heck even the Coma girl graduated on time I guess we gonna find out where the original dude got the rock from Rocket River
There's no point in debating whether El survived or not since it wasn't the intent for that to be known. It's looking for an answer when no answer can be found. It's pointless.
On that note, Steve's jerk friends from Season 1 and 2, El's bully from Season 4, along with Dr Kay and the jocks, just throw 'em all in a room with a Demo.
The first season was fantastic/perfect. Every subsequent season has been just stretching thin plot over unearned sentimentalism to make Netflix cash.
I agree that the first season was the best season. It was definitely the fastest paced and the one I skipped the least on. But I stand by my statement, for my personal taste, it was a good show but not a great one. I never could get with the hype, but respected it's premise and story.
Box Office: Netflix’s ‘Stranger Things’ Series Finale Earns More Than $25 Million in Movie Theaters https://variety.com/2026/film/news/...nger-things-series-finale-results-1236622331/
I binged the whole series over the last month+, just finished today I agree with the sentiment that the show would have probably felt better if they were able to compact the series over a shorter period of real world time. I thought 11’s Botox/fillers were very unfortunate for the character, I also don’t understand why they had her dressed in the superhero bathing suit the entire season either. Outside of that, pretty damn good show. Kind of wished there was more in between time for the characters out of combat/distress, that’s where the show shined best for me.
“one thing. I don’t know why…” Six words in and I’m: Lame late nineties/ early 2000s music is my fast food. I don’t care.
this final season has been getting sh*tted on I didn’t mind it tbh, and I quite enjoyed the final sendoff for the characters in the backend of the last episode overall I’d give the final season like a 7/10
There was so much hype that the superfans were expecting it to be perfect and are pissed that it wasn't. The gay issue WAS relevant to the plot as it was a fear in Will that was being exploited. Once he came out, the fear was gone and it couldn't be exploited anymore. The people who were so pissed about it totally missed that. I liked the final episode. Was it perfect? No, but what series is? Even the greatest series of all time Band of Brothers had glaring omissions and totally misrepresented Sobel, but that's another thread. You nailed it. This show was about childhood friendships first and foremost. The prologue wrapped things up perfectly, just what I was hoping for. Maybe it drew me in because I'm a Gen X guy who graduated in 88 and it reminded me of all my friends from HS who were the most important people in my life at the time and now I only keep up with a few of them. Spoiler I could have done without the cliched 'is she dead or not' ending with El. I think it hit harder when we thought she was dead. I prefer to think she still is.
I thought Linda Hamilton played the role perfectly as the military brass b__ch. I know this because I didn't like her abrasive character at all.
