Stop making this is a black and white issue. Trump is likely at or below average IQ. Nothing wrong with that. We certainly have had Presidents this "mid" before. Trump is profoundly ignorant and incurious. He thinks that he is the smartest man in the room, while that is likely not the case. This may have led Trump to believe that he understands business, macro/micro economics, climate science, etc, when he does not. There are things that Trump is "educated" about, mostly centered on what bullies can get away with on a middle school playground. Trump understands power in that regards. What can power allow Trump to get away with? Does a rich person really need to pay his fair share in taxes? Does a builder need to pay his subcontractors when they do not have the power to make him? And finally Trump does have a super power. He is a world class salesman. He can convince people that he is a super genius business person, even though he has been in bankruptcy court six times. He can convince people that just by using his name and sales skills that Trump licensed products are a good business bet, while the past is littered with examples of the opposite: Trump Water/Vodka/Steak/Watches/Meme Coins/Truth Social etc. He can convince banks to loan him money for projects, while he is decidedly a bad bet to make repayment. The combination of using raw power and profound ignorance lead to this book ... Everything Trump Touches Dies | Book by Rick Wilson .
I don't think that Trump has an average or below average IQ - I think Trump knows very well what does and does not sell. I also don't think Trump really believes most of what he says, as it seems to conveniently line up with some other point that benefits him personally. Trump only cares about what Trump wants and will do anything to get what he wants. While I agree with the content of what you posted, none of that shows a low IQ or that he is or has been a visionary. We don't have to like or think Trump cares for the greater good to conclude that he is exceptional at getting what he wants.
I don’t know if it has anything do with his IQ or not but Trump has figured out that he must make his fantasy your reality by as aggressively as he can bullying you into repeating his lies that align with his fantasy. With Trump and his supporters it’s always about creating the fantasy. That’s it. It’s that simple. Think about what the most fantastical version of reality you want to see, tell people it’s real, talk over anyone who wants to object with the truth, and belligerently berate and attack the truth tellers. Never admit your fantasy is not a reality. And I take great objection to calling Trump a salesman. It’s a misunderstanding of what good sale people do. This isn’t sales. It’s Cult Leader Prophetic Religion. Are Jim Jones or David Koresh known as “visionaries?” No… but for some reason folks here continue to let Trumps fantastical cult religion building tactic work on them by giving him an honor he does not deserve. @Nook I get what you are saying here but giving this man credit for doing the same thing just at a larger scale that Jim Jones and David Koresh did is not visionary. It’s just a sad tale of how far our society has fell to be susceptible to cult fantasy overtaking everything happening on earth to service the senile makeup wearing gouty belligerent pedophile fool. Trump is no genius but we as the society and species though are the true fools.
This statement describes Trump pretty well... In Trump's reality, good poll numbers are real (even when he invents them), bad ones are fake. Good job numbers are trumpeted, while bad ones — even from the same agency — are malicious attempts to discredit him. Accusations against Democrats are to be investigated and pursued. Accusations against him are witch hunts. https://www.axios.com/2025/08/09/trump-presidency-jobs-report-approval-rating
