You and that guy don't know what you're talking about.

Here are all the shots Jalen took in this series:

There's plenty of instances where he was not doubled or blitzed and he did not deliver. There were times he was one on one going against Curry and Curry stopped him.

He had several wide open shots that he missed. Several times where the Warriors guarded him 1 on 1 and he failed or passed out.

Also, something he could have done is try to move off ball. Cut, relocate...They can't blitz you when you're moving off ball.

I agree he should score on Curry more often than not.
I agree, he should have hit more of his open shots, and also passed up opportunities where he should have gone to the rack.
I agree he should have cut in some opportunities.

Add in making his free throws.

Making open shots (and free throws) and cutting also applies to other players. Cutting also applies to coach training them on it.

I don't know about the equal or greater part, but yeah there are other reasons for why our offense sucked. Not sure what that has to do with discussing the massive egg that Jalen laid when his main role is producing offense. We'll find out how the team feels about what he brings to the table soon enough. Never listen to what people say. A pair of lips can say anything. Watch what they do instead. The actions they take this off season will tell us a lot more about how they feel about the team than some post game quotes.

Why is everything pointed back at someone else?

This guy has been an NBA player for 4 years and been playing basketball his whole life he doesn't know and when to cut?

Guys like Amen and Tari have been cutting on offense since day 1. Even Cam cuts when he gets playing time. When we had KJ Martin he would cut all the time. Jasean Tate cuts when he's in the game.

Why is it always somebody else gotta do something to make him not be ass? This guy doesn't know how to cut and make himself available off ball? Damn.

if their idol does something right it's because of him

This video literally shows the rockets players created more open shots for Jalen (where he clanks) than he did for others. After watching this video on the series, i don't know how you could possibly come to a conclusion that Jalen was double teamed throughout the series and created multiple open shots for others.

Not always pointed back at someone else. Let’s not type in hyperbole.

I think Jalen is learning the decoy role and you’re probably right that he actually doesn’t know when/where to cut in some situations that arise from it and others.

I saw a leap in him understanding the game after last offseason and I’m optimistic there will be another bigger leap after this offseason. Gives me a little bit of hope for him still.

At this point w his extension kicking in, does Jalen now have negative value? If we can get a mid first rounder I would take it if we can unload this his contract.

Precisely why he should have gone to Restricted Free agency but instead Rafael signed him outright.

    To test the waters.

I think this would be the case if he was more consistent, instead of having very high highs and very low lows. Chuck mentioned this on TNT, how Paul Silas told him you can't have a guy starting that is a 20ppg scorer that will score 40 one night, 10 the other and then 12 another. You need them to be scoring 17-25 ppg every game. You can not have multiple single digit scoring games in a series to even be considered a reliable NBA starter. He doesn't need to be the guy, he could have just been a more athletic DeMar DeRozan or Bradley Beal and been the 3rd or 4th best player on a contending team.

Teams don't have the luxury to figure out whether Jalen has it going on a particular night or not.

I think his consecutive game streak is far less impressive if he were able to just score 10+ points every game for 3 seasons, that would have been far more valuable.

To me his inconsistency leads him to the 6th man role.

All began when he joined AAU ....probably all began as a kid on a practice court.

    This you?

Every single post interaction we've had you literally pointed fingers at someone else. Not just you though. Lots of people cant even talk about his flaws and what hes failed to do without talking about silas, sengun, kpj, bad teams he was on, warriors blitzing him, teammates not doing such and such, yada yada yada...

But this is literally the first post where you didnt bring up what someone else did or didnt do. You went so far as to bring up coaching for this man when it comes to cutting.

But yeah Sorry for the hyperbole

Its just a bunch of bs because when he does something good you know what i dont hear? Oh man, sengun set a great pick or made a great pass that got Jalen an easy bucket...great play by coach to get jalen in a good spot to score...great to have amen and tari and dillon taking on the toughest defensive assignments so jalen can have energy to score ....fred set jalen up for a wide open look...

When he does well its look at what Jalen did. When he does poorly, ya got every canned excuse ready to go even if it doesnt make logical sense.

If by decoy you mean also have a weaker mindset and run from responsibilities, then yes.
