Unfortunately this is the story of Jalen's career. Very good against generic passive matchups. Can't handle things when teams actually gameplan for him. The problem is, in the playoffs every team will gameplan against everyone on the other side.
He'd done his job without ball in hands? No rebounds No assists No steals No defense? Ime, what are you talking about?
Next question should have been, "When Jalen created this numbers advantage why do you think the other players weren't able to consistently take advantage of 4 vs 3?" Because if he's saying Jalen did his job in helping the offense, the failure was on the other players who couldn't score effectively vs all the 4 vs 3 opportunities Jalen was creating.
Can't flat out say how he feels about Jalen, because when it comes from the coach nothing would sink trade value more. Got to lie through his teeth regarding Jalen, just like his few delusional handful of cultists left, do.
Jalen was taken out of the game/series too easily.....that happened also in regular season games when the opponent was more serious. Udoka failed. Jalen's bag is too tiny and his moves are predictable. Plus Jalen is passive when he has it not going......
exactly right That’s 3 people on the Rockets that have explained Jalen’s playoff performance. And the dominant takeaway is that these guys don’t know what they’re talking about and that Jalen’s work was insufficient. Ime, Steve-o and Fred are right. The rest of y’all are wrong. Jalen will continue to improve. There was visible improvement from him after training hard last offseason, and he’ll show another leap after this offseason. Why couldn’t the other 4 players hit shots when playing against 3? They aren’t good shooters, ball handlers, or cutters.
Hahahah oh boy. You made that other post calling me out, now i'll return the favour but the difference is I know what I'm talking about. Why don't you watch game 7 again, please point out to us all those times the other 4 players were playing against 3, you know, because you're insinuating that Jalen was double teamed often. Please, we'll wait with baited breath.
What a very, very, very, very weird thing to say. After he literally proved that very thing time and time again. Yikes. Are you trolling? You have to be trolling after that comment, saying it right now?
but they aren’t good shooters, cutters, or ball handlers. Fred is the only reliable ball handler, and he only found his 3 pt shot halfway through the series. People were piling on Fred in the first few games too.
I’m not trolling, I’m pointing out that where you think Jalen is doing nothing, Ime thought Jalen was doing okay creating space for his teammates to play 4 on 3.
https://bbs.clutchfans.net/threads/...-round-1-game-7.326264/page-167#post-15730370 This guy says it differently than me, and acknowledges a Jalen shortcoming this series that I agree with
No the dominant takeaway is that they aren't going to talk bad about a player on their team to the media. Ime was asked about a few players and he spoke highly of them all. So I guess no one was actually an issue? Fred spoke positively about the entire team. Again, by that logic, no one is an issue. Here's what Jalen said about himself: "I gotta be better," Green said. "First playoff isn’t an excuse.” Does he not know what he's talking about either?
I’m not claiming that Jalen’s every move was right. What I’m claiming is that there’s other equally significant or greater contributors to stalled offense in several games. I think that’s what the coach and the Rockets are communicating too. They’ll work on it for next year.
