You realize the NY Times isn't advocating one way or another with that piece, just reporting the potential impact.
Man sometimes arguing with democrats is like telling the Chiefs fans that the referees are helping 'em out, they just don't see it.
I know people pay taxes for property in Mexico. My dad and mom live in two different cities and they both pay minimal amounts for the contributions. Less than $50. Not sure if it's the same in the bigger cities like Mexico DF, Monterrey, Guadalajara, etc. Taxes here serve a purpose, would be nice to eliminate government waste not just at the federal level, but at the state and local level as well, but overall we all get good services. Roads, utilities, parks, etc. Illegals have the ability to apply for an ITIN. I'm not saying they all do, since I'm sure most would speculate that this would be a way for the government to track them, but when my mom was here illegally she applied for an ITIN and was paying her taxes. I'm doing some quick google searches and the numbers support that illegal immigrants pay taxes. For the very least, we know they pay sales taxes and any sort of extra tax that's tacked on to any bill. So they pay taxes. Many do pay income taxes as well, although I'm sure many do not do it, I wouldn't argue that. I'm not sure how the data that has been gathered is really put together, but seems that illegals pay taxes. They do it because they also believe they can help their family back home by being in this country. It's the system abused, likely, just like any other system, doesn't mean that we need to punish the individuals that mean well, but I get it, that's how society works sometimes, some screw it up for the rest of us. I'm not going to lie, I don't know how women being trafficked and young men being murdered really fit into this equation, is not as if the child is born and immediately the parent has the ability to get their status changed to legal in this country, so you really have to explain that correlation to me. So what encouragement does an individual have of a young women that was brought over if they have to wait until the child that would be citizen has to be 21 until they can help the parents potentially gain legal status in this country? I'm not saying it may not be exploited, but I highly doubt is happening in large numbers. It's no different than how 2A supports are unmoved by mass shootings, it simply doesn't happen enough to make them rethink their thoughts on guns (I apologize in advance for using this analogy, I'm not trying to get into a 2A debate).
He didn’t call you a slur. He said you were sucking Trump's dick. So since you are the one who thinks sucking another man's dick is abhorrent; wouldn't that make you a homophobe? I mean you easily could have said "No. I am not sucking Trump's dick. Although there is nothing wrong with that if one chooses to do so." However, you taking homosexual acts as a negative says more about you than him.
Appeals court denies Trump’s bid to reinstate birthright citizenship order A federal appeals court declined to set aside a nationwide injunction against Trump’s order, paving the way for a potential Supreme Court showdown. https://www.washingtonpost.com/immigration/2025/02/20/trump-birthright-citizenship-appeal-case/
If the Trump admin somehow extremely narrows qualifications for Birthright Citizenship, it’s going to be a shitstorm that most people can’t comprehend. If you can’t prove your parent’s citizenship was legal, meaning their parents or parent’s parents, and so on, entered and attained citizenship legally, we could potentially see deportations of generations of people who were born here. We’ve seen that this administration only cares for one thing: abject loyalty from white people. Service to your country, living an honest life and other moral qualities don’t matter. Today’s USSC decision takes this a step farther and is the most alarming thing this crooked kangaroo court has done. How far is too far before people start pushing back? SUPREME COURT Supreme Court curbs injunctions that blocked Trump's birthright citizenship plan The Trump administration wants to end automatic birthright citizenship as enshrined in the Constitution’s 14th Amendment. SHARE THIS — June 27, 2025 / Updated June 27, 2025 By Lawrence Hurley WASHINGTON — The Supreme Court on Friday handed a major win to the Trump administration by allowing it to take steps to implement its proposal to end automatic birthright citizenship. In a 6-3 vote, the court granted a request by the Trump administration to narrow the scope of nationwide injunctions imposed by judges so that they apply only to states, groups and individuals that sued. That means the birthright citizenship proposal can likely move forward at least in part in the states that challenged it as well as those that did not. The ruling immediately sparked a response from plaintiffs who have sued to block the executive order, with their lawyers vowing to continue the legal fight. It has long been widely accepted, including by legal scholars on left and right, that the Constitution’s 14th Amendment confers automatic citizenship to almost anyone born in the United States. "GIANT WIN in the United States Supreme Court!" Trump said in a Truth Social post. The court was divided on ideological lines, with conservatives in the majority and liberals in dissent. "When a court concludes that the executive branch has acted unlawfully, the answer is not for the court to exceed its power, too," Justice Amy Coney Barrett wrote for the majority. But she indicated that the nationwide injunctions are limited "only to the extent that the injunctions are broader than necessary." Lower courts, she added "shall move expeditiously" to figure out how broad the injunctions can be. The court also said that the administration can continue working administratively on how the policy would be implemented. Liberal Justice Sonia Sotomayor read a summary of her dissent from the bench in the courtroom, saying the ruling was a "travesty for the rule of the law" and an "open invitation to bypass the constitution." Federal courts "will be hamstrung" when it comes to nationwide injunctions but she urged potential plaintiffs to immediately file class action lawsuits, a legal avenue the court left open. In a separate dissenting opinion, Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson wrote that the decision was “an existential threat to the rule of law.” The policy remains blocked for now in one additional state, New Hampshire, as a result of a separate lawsuit that is not before the Supreme Court. In light of the ruling, the proposal can potentially move forward nationwide, although individual plaintiffs could still file their own lawsuits in those states and the current challengers can still move to reinstate injunctions that are less broad in scope. The court said the executive order would technically go into effect in 30 days.
Trump's immigration policies enjoy majority support in this country. The election of Trump WAS the people pushing back on the Democrats' years of open border, illegal immigrants-over-citizens approach to governing. GOOD DAY
I'm actually for granting citizenship only to people that were born to parents that are in the US legally, but I know assholes like Trump and others in the GOP will abuse it to F over people that have been in the US all their lives. The democrats will now have to grow some balls to fast track legal status to protect these people when they eventually get back into power. The constitution is designed to protect us from assholes, but it has failed in this case. Now it's up to politicians to grow some balls and voters to stop being so apathetic.
He believes it is obviously Better they break in and murder your whole family and state that IT'S MY HOME NOW Rocket River
Conservatives might hate this ruling as well. Conservatives have become experts in judge shopping to find that West Texas Judge who puts the Bible ahead of the Constitution and kicks out nationwide injunction (because he can and **** those who disagree).

And again, let's please stop calling the GOP Conservatives. The majority is clearly Radicals now.

This one of the many reason i don't understand why this 47 is doing it I have stated it before and will again WPE.
I have some Latino friends who were born here but their parents were not but have gone through the immigration process but haven't been granted full status yet (this process is completely broken)...................they are about to get screwed and they mostly voted for trump because there were to many "bad illegals", there vote for trump was a vote to leave the only home they have known.......the Irony is off the charts Some of the laws and norms we have taken for granted are now biting us in the butt and most maga folks won't care until affects them............good luck in Alabama, Arkansas, Mississippi when Medicaid is cut and rural hospitals close and nursing homes can't stay afloat.....................so cheer it up now and I wont feel sorry for you when you are on the other side
