The Rockets, even with losing three of the last four at home, are just a half game out of the 2 seed in West. Losing Smith for two months and replacing him with a 38 year old ain’t gonna cut it. Add to that Eason’s potential season ending injury and a move needs to be made for front line help. Even if Eason comes back, it’s just a matter of time before the next knee management month comes upon us. We desperately need help NOW to salvage what has been a great season. My solution is to swing big and go for Zion Williamson while he’s relatively cheap and definitely available. Think it could be done for Sheppard, Eason, Cam and 2 firsts. Lineup would be Sengun, Zion, Brooks, Green, FVV with Amen as sixth man and Jabrari coming back for the playoffs. There’s risk with Zion, but he’s young and did play 70 games last year. Get him with Udoka and (as Austin Rivers just said) away from the New Orleans junk food diet and he could be the superstar we need. Risk/reward is great, but worth it before he’s traded elsewhere.

Why? They aren't doing anything this season no matter what they do.

Going to get Zion just ensures the Rockets never do anything.

Devin Booker or DeeAron Fox. Just depends on which team is willing to make a deal ahead of a very stacked draft class.

Ideally it's this summer when we can throw Jalen into the deal.

If we could get Zion for a cheap price then I the risk is worth taking.
That offer you suggest may be my max in terms of young players and picks. I would want to keep enough picks to attach to Green in the off-season for a backcourt upgrade, as that is the bigger area of need.

I just don’t see Zion getting over his issues and injuries and fatness. It seems like he’s just not meant to play long term at an NBA level. Not sure I’d trade a lot of our assets for him. Doesn’t seem like a good fit either. Not a good defender and also not a shooter at all lol. We have plenty of athletes already who can’t shoots and most of them are better defenders than Zion.

Zion doesnt strike me that he has the championship player mentality. Id rather roll the dice somewhere else.

The problem with Zion, beyond the injuries and motivation issues, is that we’d have to completely restructure our team to fit him; he’s a very unique player. Sengun, for example, would be a questionable fit next to Zion. Two non-shooters that will clog the paint, putting even more pressure on our guards and wings to shoot efficiently. We barely have any shooters as it is.

I’d still be willing to roll the dice on Zion if we didn’t have to give up much, but I’m way more interested going after a good shooting wing or guard.

The Random Trade thread is just not good enough for inanimal's omnipresent ideas.

So you want to get an oft injured guy to solve our injury problems, thinking his food consumption issue will be solved by moving from NOLA to Houston? o_O

This is Inanimal's MO. He always starts these idiotic trade ideas everytime something stupid comes into his head. There are hundreds of them. He has a moral obligation to ignore the Random Trade thread.

Stone is just a draft merchant. He knows he can escape criticism and pressure by making trades to acquire picks to push back the timeline. He has shown no indication whatsoever that he can make trades to improve the team. There’s a reason why he preaches patience in every interview. As soon as you make a player trade, the door opens for you to get evaluated.

    LMAO at trading for Zion

“get him away from New Orleans junk food diet”…as if Houston is known for its healthy eats and isn’t one of the fattest cities in the country

Zion would be replacing gumbo with BBQ
