This is my take on Jalen from last year & before that. A few of us saw this day coming where Jalen would blossom. We preached patience & knew he'd eventually become a star with growth. HOWEVER, they're were a few posters that don't know basketball who were saying he was bust & implying Stone needed to get fired for drafting him. Here is a list of idiot takes from posters who all were wrong and owe Jalen a big fat apology:

let's pump the brakes; the guy is streaky and inconsistent. I want him to be really good but what I said is valid

Are you really doing this after 4 games? Can't you just enjoy it? We've seen him do this for longer than 4 games before, don't jinx it man.

You do realize people can see your posting history, right Bobby?

I'll hold out but the most promising thing is outside of the Spurs game he wasn't setting the world on fire shooting wise and still was posting career highs by a wide margin in all the things Green traditionally is bad at which is advanced metrics like BPM. This is the first time in his career he has a positive BPM and it's way in the positive at 5. Before the Spurs game it was 3 which still blows his previous years. Before the Spurs game he had a 54% ts which is in line with the rest of his career scoring efficiency wise but still absolutely blew out his other advanced stats telling me he doesn't need to be on a hot streak to have positive star level impact on the team game to game.

That is where the biggest improvement is. Not being hot and still being a star level impact contributer to the team.

"Jalen Green does not contribute to winning basketball."
    "Jalen Green is a bust"
"Jalen will never be anything more than an inefficient chucker"
"Jalen isn't even good enough to be a 3rd or 4th option"
"Jalen will lose his minutes after the all-star break to Cam guaranteed"
"Jalen should be worried Amen or Reed will take his minutes next season"
    "Better than Jalen, day 1"
"Get this bum off my team"
Plenty more, you know who you are.

This is the Jalen we were promised two years ago.

I doesn’t take a top 2 pick 4 years to finally show out. I hope this is permanent

I'd like to ask some folks how heavy goal posts are, but I'm about to find out this season, I think.

Why are the biggest Jalen haters also seemingly the most illiterate?

"Jalen's a bust, we should fire Stone for wasting the 2nd pick in the draft"
"He's not an alpha, he's too feminine to ever be a good player"

So far so good. But we’re only 4 games in this season. Last season he also had a decent start. It was during December when he began having bad performances, which only ceased after the all-star break. Hopefully, this season he’ll be more consistent, and won’t have long stretches of bad games like he used to have in he’s first 3 seasons.. I do believe he matured and that the current shape he has is more than just another temporary good streak.

You talk like you've been part of the discussions for a while, but you only have 2 posts? Too ashamed to post from your main account now? Is that you Bobby? DD? NewAge?

Lol it definitely does depending on situation and NBA readiness. Most 19 year old number two picks aren't stars until they are 21 or 22 especially young 19 year old scoring guards who came into the league at 184 lbs.

Luka and Ja are the exception. I feel like those guys are equivalent to what Stroud is in football where teams have unreasonable expectations of top draft picks being thrown into the fire because of generational level play from recent top picks.

"I told everybody before the draft we should've gone with Mobley. We're going to regret wasting our pick on this bum"
"Jalen will never be anything better than an inefficient chucker, I guarantee it."

I mean, not really. He averaged 17.7 ppg last October and 20 ppg last November.

That quoted statement was one of the least offensive things you’ve said about Jalen. I’d have more respect for you if you just owned your prior idiocy rather than avoiding it.
