"21/4/6 before 22" is such a random ass set of numbers to group players by. what about the list of players before 23 who's averaged 8/16/3?
I hope I'm wrong but I think next year's scapegoat will be Jabari. People might be talking about how he's not lived up to his potential and compare him to Paolo a lot. And by "people", I'm probably talking about me lol, but here's hoping he starts acting like he belongs, be bold and start being selfish sometimes
Paolo went first because he was the better player and prospect. Chet went second because he was the better player and prospect. Sadly the GMs in front of the Rockets drafted the two players in the tier ahead of Jabari. If you want to compare Jabari to other players, compare him to Jaden Ivey, Keegan Murray and Shaedon Sharpe because those are the players who should have been considered to be in his tier at the draft. Jalen Williams is the one guy who wasn't viewed as in his tier that is clearly better than him at this point and probably belongs in the tier with Chet and Paolo at this point.
I get the criticism, yes, he is no Paolo but he had a slightly better season than Jalen Green for instance. Aside from scoring.
Getting props for moving without the ball and getting through screens like a SF this off-season from NBA coaches. Everything is going to plan. Get those sweetheart extensions for Tari and Bari next year.
90% of cf preferred Jabari over him. Paolo doesn't play defense and can't shoot 3s is what they said.
Did we have a chance to draft Paolo? No. No, we did not. Do random CF posters tell the Rockets who to draft? No. Thank god, no. Does anyone care what random CF posters said in a draft some years ago? No. Or at least they shouldn't. Did the Rockets make some unfortunate guesses that we can all commiserate over? Yeah, probably. Hindsight is 20/20. Other than maybe Sengun, we don't seem like we've drafted anyone who has "it," that can take us to the next level. It's really freaking frustrating. I guess, in the end, I'm more disappointed by lots of people saying "oh but they're just young!" than I am by people who thought Jabari might be a good pick. Plenty of very young players in the league are improving much more dramatically than ours are.
The fck we talking about? I wanted Paolo and I thought a lot wanted him also over Jabari...or was my beer glasses clouding other posters opinions and I was hyper focus on posts about wanting Paolo only?
Someone posted the link to the poll thread in 2022. https://bbs.clutchfans.net/threads/what-player-do-you-want-to-select-in-the-2022-nba-draft.315568/ Most people wanted Jabari or Chet if they had a choice. But since most people thought Orlando wanted Jabari (and OKC wanted Chet) up until the draft day, there was a thread hyping up Paolo that got a lot of people jump onto the Banchero wagon.
