Republicans couldn't shut up about Biden being a senile old man unfit for the white house. Now that he's out it was Democratic backstabbing and completely ridiculous that he was forced out. I feel better than this morning based on just how poorly trumptards are responding to this.
This could have been a disaster for the Dems. But it’s really a perfect storm of the campaign funds issue, Kamala being the only other name recognition political candidate (other than Newsom), serious presidential candidates not wanting to run now for a campaign that they’ll be set up to failure for. The drop out + CrowdStrike also killed the news momentum for the Trump assassination attempt + RNC convention. There is a noticeable general unity/fear/urgency/direction being injected into the party and the voter base. I don’t know if it’ll be enough to win but staying with Biden would have been a guaranteed disaster.
