Very Trump-like to assume anyone who disagrees is a GOF..... Our current starting 5 is doing good and we are very much over expectations for this difficult schedule we've had.
I appreciate the sentiment here, and yes that team would be a lot better on defense and a better rebounding team, but the problem is offense. This team is built for a guy like Jalen Green to score the ball. Jalen may not be the two guard of the future, but we need somebody like him in this starting and closing line up.
That would be Chock-full not Chalk full. . . . . . speaking of knowledge. If you have to tell everyone you are the smartest person in the room, you are not the smartest person in the room. That's okay though, its what you learn after you know it all that counts.
I chose CHALK full - as a snarky chalk talk like reference for a reason, actually changed it from Chock to Chalk - but alas, it went unnoticed, and probably wasn't all that good of a funny reference anyway, I will try to be more obvious. I am hardly the smartest person in the room - just smarter than you. DD
He's 22 while averaging 7/5/1 on 47/40/43 (his FT sucks, but it's on really small sample size. he doesn't even avg 1 attempt a game.) Those are pretty damn good numbers on 17 minutes of playing time while playing good defense. He is definitely a really good role player
He wasn't the only one to raise the expectations, I had them going .500 .... 41-41. Ironically, I didn't get much pushback on that .... [Poll] How many games does this team win next season? | Page 4 | ClutchFans In this thread the poll has 11.6% of responses with 41-44 wins. Not a whole heck of a lot ... Yeah, those home and away stats are pretty wild. His shooting in the mid range is where he really needs to improve. The numbers are pretty bad Jalen Green 2023-24 Shooting | Basketball-Reference.com I wouldn't bench Green for Tari as the OP suggested, they really don't play the same roles. Maybe later in the year you give some of those minutes to Cam who's closer to that role or possibly Amen gets some of those minutes when he comes back from his RGV rehab stint, but he really doesn't fit that role either. I can't see one of the two-way guys getting many minutes they are outa luck stuck behind players the team has more invested in.
FVV can’t keep playing monster minutes. Amen will become the backup PG by mid-season. Holiday has been decent, but Amen (especially) defensively is a difference maker. I hope Cam can get some backup SG minutes, but he has a lot of competition so I’m not sure it happens for him this year.
I don't really disagree at all. 96 minutes at the 2 guard spots, I'd like to see FVV down around 32, Jalen's getting about the same right now. Amen was getting right at 17 per before the injury - that accounts for 81 of those 96 guard spot minutes (32-32-17). There's a sliver of minutes left to fight over but with Holiday playing fairly well, Whitmore may not get a shot unless there's an injury. And we can't forget about Tate who has also gotten some time as a guard. Minutes are tight on this team ....
I think a good balance will be good. It can also prevent a lot of injuries if time is properly managed.
DD's mind runs on junk food. Nothing but junk comes out of his mouth. He has Jalen Green derangement syndrome.
Can't be afraid of having a basketball discussion because the opinion might not be popular. Most of the people that b**** so much don't ever offer anything of substance anyway, sometimes it is fun to just drive conversation - you should try it sometime, we all should....can't be afraid of folks disagreeing.....
