Correct me if I’m wrong, he still hasn’t broken any laws, correct? Be interesting to see what the precedence with be for a significant amount of games suspended for breaking the NBA’s social-optics policy. If I were a player (esp. if I were black), I’d consider standing in solidarity by posting Christmas cards of me with an AR-15 (rented, ofc, ), in front of a Xmas tree.
You don't have to break any laws to get suspended. Conduct detrimental to the league is what they'll say. EDIT: Nvm I see you basically pointed that out already. Did Arenas/Crittenton situation involve broken laws? Don't really remember. Also, Silver said he had new information so I'm interested to see what that is.
Nobody thought Ja Morant would be stopped that way coming into this league......dayum he seemed unstoppable.
There's definitely plausible scenarios where he may have broken laws surrounding the gun incidents. Taking guns on planes, or aiming a gun at pacers staff or telling one of his crew too aim a gun at pacers staff. There's also plausible scenarios where the investigation looked at other things, like his alleged threatening the mall security guard, fighting that teenager, or things we don't know about yet. Everything is obviously very speculative right now.
Laws don't matter there is a code of contact to be in the NBA - he is a ****ing idiot to risk that. DD
This was my initial thought when I saw the baby gun he was flashing, not saying his camp is speaking the truth about it, but it looked like a ''toy'' gun
It's been weeks since the incident, and this is the best excuse they could come up with? Just own up to it, move on and accept the suspension!
It is not like he is some kid flashing a toy gun though.....he is in some music trance flashing some weird ass fake gun.
He is a big baby toting a baby gun, as you mentioned, in a trance, that mumble rap music usually does that for the wrong reasons I Am just guessing on the last part since I don't know what type of music it was cuz my volume was on mute, just that he seemed to be in super crunk mode dancing and flashing his nerf water pistol for all of social media and his NBA family to see
If I remember correctly, Ja comes from a middle-class family, not from some 'hood. So this is all "pretend" childish gangsta play, that's not who he is, not some cultural thing. Pretty immature and pretty dumb. What I notice is that things like that never happen with NBA children, they all come to the league well-prepped on how to be pros, and judgement is never clouded by the money and fame. Klay/Steph, Jalen Brunson, JJJ, Jeremy Grant, KJM... Who else? Which makes me think: Jett Howard at pick #20 may be a very good value pick
