[Official] Texans Offseason

Nah it’s nothing. AR and Bryce were taking 2nd snaps at some point also. By 1st preseason game CJ will be starting.

 

Difficult to predict our WR numbers. I can see the first four getting 500 yards each and Dalton ending up with 800+yds. All I ask is for Nico to stay healthy. Deserves a healthy full season.

Jimmy G won't play for the Raiders. Houston has a certified balla in Mills. He has studied the Patriots way offense. He can see over the top of any defense like he was standing on the Transco tower. Cheaper and better than Brady in his prime. I'm just saying Raiders should think about giving us a 2nd rounder for Mills.

Kinda feel bad for Adams but not really.

How many more years does devante have on his contract? If he is just a rental it’s not worth it. He is a great wide receiver, though.

If Mills is better than Stroud this season, then we got a problem.

 

Only problem Texans will have is deciding which package will be best for them when they trade Mills.

 

If Mills is enough better than Stroud, what's the problem?

 

Rookies take time to develop -- that's not unique to Stroud. Mills is entering his third year and has significant starting experience in the NFL. We aren't viewing this through a 1-year window, we are thinking longer term... but if you were thinking short term, you'd start Mills next season. That's why I think Mills has to be traded. You can't have Stroud worried about being benched if he struggles. Bad for his development.

 

I look at it a little differently. I wouldn't coddle Stroud, hell let all 3 QBs compete and whoever looks best should be the starter. If that's Mills, then let Stroud hold the clipboard for a bit. Draft a QB high and throw them into the fire hasn't been the best approach. While I agree and understand getting game reps can't be replaced, I also see enormous value in young QBs getting a chance to watch and learn before having the weight of the team and a season thrown on their shoulders. If Stroud wins the job, then he earns the right to lead the team, but I would probably retain Mills this season unless we get a great offer.

I know most of this board will probably not agree and that's fair.
