Seems like just yesterday we were watching World Series highlight. Probably because we were. Don't think I went more than 2 days without viewing post season highlights. Non obsessive behavior. Here is to another historical season:
Damn it feels good to be a gangster... Should be a fun season ahead. With the unavoidable ups and downs ahead (baseball is a game of failure), don't forget to enjoy it folks!
I just want everyone to be healthy at playoff time Yes, I'm taking the playoffs for granted since I'm spoiled AF. I'm also rooting for the new kids. It was Alvarez, then Tucker, then Luis Garcia, then Pena. This year, it will be Brown, Diaz, and Dirden. I want to see how good Javier and Valdez can be as the 2 aces.
I think Dubon starts when Framber, McCullers, and Brown start and Hensley when Javier, Garcia, and Urquidy start. Not sure about Blanco if he starts. MLB average ground ball rate was 44% 17% of pitchers w/ 50+ IP were 50% or more. 27% of pitchers w/ 50+ IP were 38% or less. 347 pitchers. Framber 67.1% Brown 66%* McCullers 50.8% Garcia 37.2% Urquidy 36.4% Javier 25.7% *Brown did not have 50 IP but has a history of high ground ball rates in minors too.
I’m disappointed with the injuries but let’s be real: Bregman, Alvarez, Tucker, and Abreu are going to have monster seasons. Peña could easily improve and guys like Diaz or Hensley could surprise. Altuve and Brantley will be back to steady the ship. SP is rock solid and deep and the bullpen is the best in MLB. Whitley is going to debut this year as well. LFG!!!
If we are only going to have Lance part of the year, I rather it be at the end of the season and playoffs.
Astros not at full strength now. We'll get reinforcement in a few months to make them even better! I'm excited...even more if Astros play strong at the start.
Once the Astros/Rockets own the network, they'll be able to do whatever they want... the Yankees also have agreements to have the YES network on cable/satellite and it doesn't prevent them. I just don't think the market is there for this to be the "sole" version of how they distribute their games. It can be in addition. And I'm sure some cord cutters out there will think its worth it (when in reality, you combine all of the pay per service fees, and you end up spending even more than what you would on a monthly cable subscription).
