Every game important but game 1 is very important. Want to be up 1-0 at home and not down 0-1 with a tough pitcher set for game 2. Same thing can be said for the Phillies though with Valdez most likely going game 2. It'll be a nice time for Verlander to get his first WS win. Does WS roster expand or same amount. Stays the same or Will Smith makes it? Hopefully if he makes it, him and Urquidy aren't rusty. They haven't pitched forever
Also, just listening to 790 right now. Sean Salisbury has the Phillies radio guy on as a guest. He picked Phillies in 6. Lol.
Sorry to hear about your tough times. I think a lot of us lost some people close to us the last few years. A year and a half ago I lost one of my best friends who I would catch games with she was a big Red Sox fan having grown up in New England. We used to give each other crap during the 2017 and 2018 series but she would root for the Stros when it wasn’t rh Red Sox.
Pretty good company to be in given that the other two teams won the World Series. I'll go with Astros in 6.
Astros vs Phillies Lineup. I feel like Houston has the advantage at 5-6 positions vs 3 for the Phillies and the edge on starting pitching as well as the bullpen. Catcher: Maldonado/Vazquez <<Realmuto (Advantage Phillies) 1st Base: Gurriel < Hoskins (Slight Advantage Phillies) 2nd Base: Altuve >> Segura (Advantage Astros) Short Stop: Pena >> Stott (Advantage Astros) Third Base: Bregman >> Bohm (Advantage Astros) LF: Alvarez > Schwarber (Slight Advantage Astros) CF: McCormick > Marsh (Slight Advantage Astros) RF: Tucker >>Castellanos (Advantage Astros) DH: Harper >>>>>>>> Mancini/Diaz (Huge Advantage Phillies) Starting Pitching: Astros > Phillies (Advantage Astros: Phillies top 2 are solid) Bullpen: Astros >> Phillies (Advantage Astros: depth + quality) Looks good on paper but we need Altuve, Alvarez and Tucker to get going.
Still enjoying the ride. Lets go Astros. I wanted a chance at the Phillies. As a kid Tug McGraw is seared in my memory from 1980. I have wanted this for years. Phillies vs Astros was one of my orginal heartbreaks. Phillies are a well coach, hot hitting team. Time for great pitching to beat hot hitting in a 7 game series.
Can't let this thread get too far without doing this bit again... "We take what we want! And after we take Seattle, and the Yankees, we want the gold sucka!! Bryce Harper?! We comin for YOU n-----!!!!" IYKYK
I had jury duty yesterday that I've been dreading for months, but 95% of us were all dismissed early after only two hours of waiting. On my way to my car, there was a gorgeous view of Minute Maid Park from that floor of the parking garage. I'm not a believer in signs, but I am this time. We're winning this damn thing.
