When Silas staggered Green with KPJ, the line-up he trotted out was: Green Nix Eason Martin Garuba What exactly was the plan here to trot out 4 non-shooters and Green.
He doesn’t have a feel for the game. Stone should have fired his ass last season, he deserves some blame too.
I am Down Silas is the worst coach this org has ever had, he has no respect on the floor, either he has no ****ing system or the players are ignoring it......and ignoring him, either says he must be fired. DD
Stephen Silas said the #Rockets ran more isolation than he wanted to see. "We told them before the game that they weren't going to (be able to) play the same way they did in Game 1 (against the Jazz)." He blamed Sengun before, and benched him. Now he is out because of illness, he blames whole team ) everyone is guilty except him...
Silas says, that a group of 1st and 2nd year players won't do what he is asking ))) Is he the coach or team manager.. “we told them”?if they don’t do what you say bench them.
Our offense is literally Silas putting a saddle on KPJ and Green and standing on the sideline yelling HI HO SILVER ! DD
Rockets are making it clear by staying with Silas that they don’t wanna be competitive. If it gets us Wemby I’m good with it. If not, oh boy…
I don’t understand how this guy gets away for being a terrible in game coach because he is a nice guy. A lot of nice guys who were light years better coaches got canned. I guess he comes cheap and is good with the kids as a rebuilding mode guy. Saves Scrooge a few bucks and goes on about his business once this team becomes serious about wining this guy ain’t it
We lost by just 8 despite being so disorganised on offense. With a actual coach, this is easily a win.
Yes, I watch the games. Stop looking at it as trying to put the best team on the floor, start looking at it like a coach who is trying to develop players,.
The problem I have is the rotation that he trotted out today was beyond justifiable. I haven't harped on Silas much this season, but he threw out a rotation of: Green Nix Eason Martin Garuba For 5 minutes. The Rockets, unsurprisingly, only made 2 field goals during this period. One of them was a lucky bounce 3 pointer from Tari Eason. I can understand developing players, but this is a lineup that was destined to fail. When this is the line-up you throw out, you are essentially telling Jalen Green to go 1 v 5 on offense, because it literally is 1 v 5 on offense. There is no spacing, chemistry, experience or even talent with this lineup. It's literally a line-up you would expect the Rockets to throw out in the last 5 games of the season, when they are resting most of the roster. The players aren't developing in these circumstances, they are just picking up bad habits. He could have inserted Garrison Matthews (who was hot this game) to space the floor, or Gordon, or Smith or even Tate to balance out the line-up. Instead, it feels like he trotted out this non-sensical line-up to basically stall the game out with defense until he can bring back his key players, whilst hoping Green's talent on offense can keep the scoreboard moving. It's the type of line-up logic that existed in the early 2000s.
