Can't wait to see Jabari and Tari on the court with Sengun. D should look much improved very early on.
I think Lebron and Alpi are pretty much the same size. Random thought of the day...if we are playing positionless basketball - could Alpi be considered a forward, if, let's say, we draft Victor next year? Like...a point forward? Like Lebron?
Sengun is bigger than Lebron by 1-2 inches, that’s why he was feasting on him, doubt he’s stronger as a 19 year old if they are the same size. Wemby could play the 4 and fit well next to Sengun, his entire intrigue is his mobility for his size and potential shooting ability. That said, there’s major health risks with him and I might prefer Henderson. May be a moot point since we may not draft 1-2 anyway.
But somehow the narrative is that Sengun is a defensive liability when he’s actually one of the best on the team and was constantly trying to clean up defensive breakdowns by our guards.
The thing is, we had KMJ too, still do, he is great at cutting.....Tate is not bad either......I hope that Jabari cuts. DD
I'm excited to see Sengun play in Eurobasket 2022, as it should give us a good look at his offseason progress. He might lead the Turkish national team in scoring (averaging something like 20/12 in 40-minute games). If so, the Rocket's coaches will need to adapt to that offensive scheme.
scrubs, haters and jalen green only fans its not their eyes that are blind but the hearts in their chests...
I hope the games are available to stream live. That would be awesome. I noticed that our Usman Garuba is listed as a member of the Spanish team. That's two Rockets playing for what I assume should be strong teams.
Lol, "among players who qualified"? There were only 4 nominal centers drafted in the first round (5 if you include Garuba, lol) in the 2021 NBA Draft and the only 2 who actually played enough to qualify the official stat leaderboards were Mobley and Sengun .. so congratulations to Sengun for placing 2nd out of..2.
Pretty sure the Eurobasket games can be watched live (or as replayed as full games) via Courtside 1891, the streaming service for FIBA (though live-streaming will cost some money). Their free account should offer highlights and 10-minute recaps for all games. And registering for a free account allows you to track a live box score (even on a game you can't watch). Earlier this summer, Courtside 1891 offered free live streaming on select Fiba World Cup qualifying games. If you like the sport, the competition is fierce.
LOL, only 19 rookies total qualified or the league's leader boards; Most of them as you'd expect, are all wings, and only 2 of them actually spent a lot of time at C, 3 if you count Kuminga. https://www.nba.com/stats/leaders/?StatCategory=BLK&Season=2021-22&SeasonType=Regular Season&Scope=Rookies&CF=GP*GE*58 And Mobley is basically in another universe. But yeah, among the big men, Sengun definitely ranks 2 or 1 in all the "Big man" categories among rookies who qualified. Also, he definitely ranks last or 2nd to last.
And Alp ranks 3rd out of all rookies no matter games played. There’s also quite a few “wings” that play the 4 quite often and are defensive stalwarts. Mobley and Sengun are an interesting comparison, per 36 Sengun has him beat in almost every single category and virtually identical shooting splits. Not sure why you like to hate on Alp, in general you seem to post as an angry old dude.
Every single metric that comes out seemingly proves just how effective Sengun was as a defender. Which makes it all the more laughable you have people on Clutchfans STILL to this day regurgitate how bad of a defender he was. Stop trying to make Sengun a bad defender happen. It's not going to happen.
The mark with switches is encouraging. With Jabari and Tari, switch heavy shouldn’t be an issue and Sengun won’t get caught out of position as much trying to recover for others.
