He is better than that - his shooting is pretty good, he is a great cutter, and his DAD knows whats up and what is better for his son's career. DD
DD you’ve been like a brother in arms with me defending KPJ, but even tho I agree with everything you just said, it’s still gonna be a no for me dog. We can do better than a 6’5 forward. Both him & Tate are bench players on a competitive team
I just think he should have been playing over Tate, who is 6'4" and you KNOW I agree we need height......I am not saying we need to keep KMJ but I am saying that his father is probably right about the culture in Houston, and getting his son into a better situation. And I NEVER side against the player when they are doing what is right for their own career. KPJ - yeah, gonna be a big year - let the haters stew.... DD
Garuba is a better player and prospect than Martin and Martin knows this. KJ see the practices and knows the reality. Stone keeps players around to long Gordon/Wood/Tucker/Harden and he doesn’t want to wind up in the G league trying to play his way back to where he is now.
Agreed but KPJ is brain dead. You have no chance winning with him and the new core seems to want that
we are not winning this year, if we are top 2 next year we picking Scoot at #2 but if we are #1 we are picking Victor either way this is our last year not winning.
Yeah, I'd take that deal. One Eric leaves, another Eric comes in. KJ gets what he wants and we get a solid return on a 2nd round pick.
• Houston also is in no rush to move on from third-year forward K.J. Martin. The Athletic reported that Martin had approached management in hopes of a trade, understanding the real possibility of a minutes crunch having three first-round picks ultimately turning into Smith, Eason and Washington. With Tate also now under a long-term contract, Martin is likely heading into a scenario where he’ll have to fight and claw for minutes in Silas’ rotation for the season. Martin’s frustrations are understandable to some degree, but the reality is Houston’s entire project is about young players developing and improving. There’s also the reality that Martin might need to mend some internal relationships in the coming weeks, assuming a trade doesn’t materialize. — Kelly Iko
I like him. But Rox shouldn't bend over backwards for him either. I'd like to know what happened internally that he would need to make up with folks...must be something with KPJ?
I think his dad wants him to move on to a team with possible playing time and less-questionable coaches.
