we hardly have any wing players on the roster…Thybulle could come and give 15-20 minutes Have there been any reports of a 1st round pick being available for Gordon?
Tate abuses mismatches in the post, he’s a playmaker when he wants to, he shot like 38% from 3 after the all star break, he’s a better rebounder, he’s physical, and he can guard bigger players better. Give me Tate all day.
and 64% from the free throw line…dude is not a shooter if we’re just gonna isolate parts of the season, then Thybulle shot 39% from 3 after the ASB and 90% from the line 1 is elite defensively, the other isn’t…Thybulle can guard multiple positions and does more valuable things on defense Tate is a 6’4 PF. Why are we acting like he’s locking down the paint or something?
If they can pull this off this will shine well on the Rockets organization and players will hopefully keep taking notice. Gordon deserves to be on a contender.
Tate will be our SF, and I’m banking on him improving his 3 ball this year. Thybulle doesn’t offer anything on offense at all. We’re gonna have to agree to disagree on this one, my guy.
If he gets rid of EG before the season starts KMJ will be happy some what i think? since he will be back up 3/4.
He definitely pissed me off last season bc he tried to take over too much on offense. I’m hoping he plays more like he did his rookie season.
Maybe this could ultimately end up being a four team trade with Brooklyn and Phoenix ending up in the mix. All I’m saying is the Rockets should look in to entering the Kevin Durant trade by being one of the teams involved in it, maybe we can get a DeAndre Ayton out of it
This. There's no point in arguing over Thybulle vs Tate. They're both ok role players. Thybulle may be a little better but he's also more likely to sign a big deal next year. We're not doing the Morey thing where we turnover the roster every year for a tiny incremental gain. Stone wants to repair our cold hearted image. Let's get a pick.
Thybulle may be the best on-ball perimeter defender in the league. Opposing FG% against him is really low. I don't necessarily want him but he's a whole other level that Tate isn't close to. Like, as good as Marcus Smart on the defense side.
Thybulle has an elite skill. On the right team, he’s a difference maker. That kind of a team is most likely already a playoff team, meaning if we don’t keep him, we would almost certainly get back a late first for him. So what’s the point when we could have had a late first for Gordon numerous times already? There has to be more to this.
