Same. It will be Chet or Paolo. I'm not going to fall in love with Paolo prematurely. There is a good chance Orlando takes him.
I just can't take anybody seriously that says Smith will be the better scorer when he is the most 1-dimensional scorer of the 3, he has zero handles.
You can't see why Paolo might exaggerate his height at all, even though other players have done so in the past? It would be the same reason why some men fib about their height on dating sites: to boost their stock. We just saw Cade's listed height go from 6'8" to 6'6" last year. If Paolo's height is truly 6'10.5" barefoot (and he's a Rocket) it would be a nice bonus, but no it would not dramatically change my perspective on him as a player. He'd have more potential as a small ball center possibly.
Did Cade actually say himself that he was 6'8? Did people continue to say he was 6'8 this late in the process? No prospect is boosting his height hoping to raise their stock when teams have official heights way before the draft.
In that case, Paolo could be 6'8? Someone posted a picture of Banchero being next to 7 foot Mike Williams and being a couple inches shorter.
Official heights happen at combine or NBA official site after draft. Lots of prospects did not participate in combine hence the discussion. Not worried either way, Paolo looks 6'10 or close enough.
Has Banchero himself said he is 6'10.5"? Do you consider his retweet is an official confirmation? People were saying Cade was 6'8" until his height was listed as 6'6" on Detroit's summer league roster. Regardless of the reason why, player's heights have been misrepresented before. A lot of players' heights were adjusted when the league standardized measurements in 2019. This doesn't necessarily apply to Banchero, but not all prospects workout for all teams and get measured. Some prospects like Jabari Smith have flat out refused to workout for us.
Paolo has been 6'10 250 pretty much this whole year and draft cycle though right what does he have to gain by pencil whipping another half inch? Lately the kid has dropped 15 lbs or so and when he measured height at his Rocket workout it appears there is another half inch. Could he still be growing? What do the Rockets gain by releasing that info? Not long ago there were guys who questioned he was even that tall so the new revelation is just more data to ponder. Is a 7 footer with his offensive skill package attractive? I would say so yes.
There is also a picture of Banchero standing next to 6'8 Jayson Tatum and being noticeably taller. Just saying.
He gains half an inch unofficially and now Paolo is a 7 footer? Do you have to go to these extremes man?
Explain with your infinite basketball knowledge how 6'10 is that much a difference from 7 feet on a court. Im ecstatic to hear this from the guy who preaches "length not height" More b****ing about nothing.
For one its dishonest. For NBA prospects every inch counts, positively or negatively. And secondly, length does matter more and Paolo is still under 7'1 wingspan by all accounts. Not everything needs to be exaggerated to support your point. Trust Paolo to win on his own merits, he doesn't need you to stretch the truth to do so.
