Especially if you read about the backstory to it. Convenient that after 3 years it's "racist" all of a sudden.
There's either more to the story or the league is really sensitive due to the honoring of #42 each year and wants to make sure that's not tainted in anyway. If he was called Satchel Paige I'm not sure if it would have been this big of a deal, but who knows.
I would like to see this lineup tried I think... Altuve Brantley Pena Alvarez Bregman Tucker Gurriel McCormick Maldonado Wonder if Bregman needs pressure taken off him and gives Pena opportunity to be tested... wonder how he hits with Yordan/Bregman/Tuck protecting him...
If you missed it, Anderson was quoted in an article in 2019 calling himself the modern day Jackie Robinson, brings energy and charisma to the game, etc. Shortly after that in 2019 Donaldson played him and joked about it, called him Jackie, they had a laugh, whatever. This continued over the past couple seasons, and Anderson never said a word about it, until last week, when all of a sudden Donaldson is a racist.
Team batting average this morning….a whopping .230. Can’t win it all with that. Something has to change.
It's 2022 and we're still whining about batting average?!? They have the 21st highest team batting average but the 4th highest team wRC+. When rolling in defense, they have the highest team batting fWAR (4th by bWAR).
Being on pace for 102 wins with a roster built for the postseason just isn't good enough for some people.
The Astros have the 4th best offense, the best defense, a Top 4 pitching staff. That's like saying Alvarez's homers barely clear the fence.
