Nope, you can go back to anything i posted. I wanted as little talent back ass possible, only dead salary and picks. That hasn’t changed.
No one says Oladipo gave us more chance of losing than Jarrett Allen. I'm not saying you are lying.....but your nose is growing Pinocchio
I didn’t want either, but i wanted allen less. It is what it is, you can have your opinion, can’t change it
Ok, you are sticking to your story. Can't say it hasn't been interesting conversing with you. We agree that we disagree at the time of the incident. I don't believe anyone in their right mind felt Oladipo gave us the greatest chance for losing (at the time).
Yeah that's the odd part.....you clearly had a higher opinion of Jarrett Allen than everyone else. Yes I felt the Nets were using him poorly or he was showing glimpses I saw him as a keeper, as I thought he would continue progressing. He really didn't come into his own until this season. Fact of the matter is you claimed you thought he was good but didn't want him is crazy. He is and will continue to be better than most bigs coming out of the draft in the first round. And there was no guarantee that Houston would get a top 4 pick as it was a 48% chance our pick would go to the Thunder. You say you would rather have possibly nothing for the effort of tanking than take Jarrett Allen. Forgive me for my scepticism.
Ya, I didn’t think allen was worth lowering our lottery odds. I didn’t at the time, and in retrospect that view hasn’t changed. I wanted to be as bad as possible
But being as bad as possible doesn't give us squat if we lost the lottery and landed at #5. You get no consolation prize of Jarrett Allen. Get fired and outlawed as GM never to work again in the NBA or college.....ever again. Known as the guy that gave up Harden for nothing. Hope as a strategy is not a very good strategy.
I understand why GM’s aren’t always willing to do what’s best for the team, because they are worried about their jobs. I’m just saying what I, personally wanted to see and to me, NOTHING was worth lowering our chances of keeping our pick
Harden didn't do any of those things. The only thing he did was be a loser who never won a championship. Haven't you heard!
I agree with this post. First off, the Rockets didn’t pick up Olidipo to lose. They thought he was going to be the new star and were wrong. If we’d have kept Allen he would be a favorite in Houston of all fans because he is an all-star level center….which has been our weakness for years. We still kept Silas so the pick would have been top ten and Stone appears to be a good at drafting players. Allen was the prize of the trade and Cleveland is thrilled to have him and still got Mobley too!
Ya we didn’t owe our pick to okc i would have wanted allen in the deal, but since we did, needed to be as bad as possible
Jalen green seems like a good kid, dude got way too much unnecessary hate here. I thought it would be another couple years before I would say “I’d rather have him the harden on the team” since he’s so fresh, but culture, attitude etc wise I’d much rather have green . That’s a pretty quick return on ROI I’d say harden did us a favor by tanking his value
You are 100% correct unless the pick was still top 5 which is what Mobley was. Gotta remember how bad of a coach Silas has been….would’ve been possible with the lottery but I tend to agree with you that the odds were that we probably would’ve given it to OKC.
It was top 4 protected btw, had it been top 5 we would have been guaranteed to keep our pick and this forum(myself included) would not have been on pins and needles. It seems like you suggested that Stone would have selected a decent player in picks 5-10, which couldn't have happened.
