If Tampa Bay decides to keep Antonio Brown around after quitting on his team, sexual misconduct, fake vaccine card, and the list goes on and on…. I can assure you that several teams will justify bringing in Watson once the lawsuits get settled. The pressure on some of these owners, GM’s, and head coaches to win is tremendous. The NFL is morally and ethically corrupt in many different ways but it’s damn entertaining. If Watson or Antonio Brown were MLB (possibly NBA) players, they’d never touch a field again. The fact that there WILL be teams in on Watson is good news for Texan fans…. Because in any other sport we’d likely lose our best player for nothing.
IB4 the "dEShAuN iZ wiLLiNG tO gO TO aTL cUz HE hAZ ATL hAt oN!" speculation... or before someone claims he wore it to spite the Astros and the town in general after losing the WS to the Braves. He's from Georgia.
I mean Watson is staying in the NFL regardless. Another city's fans will be cheering for him if it's not us. Kareem Hunt, even Michael Vick got second chances in the league. It depends on if Deshaun is willing to talk truthfully about what happen, and obviously what the criminal proceedings result in.
That's not the question I asked. I agree with the last sentence in your post. However being the narcissist that Watson is I dont ever see him being repentative and asking for forgiveness.
So the Jets have the # 4 and # 7 and the Giants # 5 and # 8 picks? Watson wants to go to a big market right? How sweet would it be to have 3, 4, and 7 or 3,5,8!
Yes... https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.c...tson-four-holdouts-blocked-trade-to-dolphins/ This one said we would've gotten 3 1sts and 2 2nds... https://clutchpoints.com/texans-news-dolphins-trade-offer-for-texans-qb-deshaun-watson-revealed/
That would be logical so they don’t all need raises at the same time. But damn next year would be finally fun to watch!
No I'd rather have them all at once. Caserio can trade down and acquire more assets if he wants, but this is the best way to get better now and for the future on the quickest time scale. Not to mention you know where all of those picks are, and they are likely much higher than anything you would get down the road with Watson at QB.
I think this is where I’m at too. Would rather know the draft slot. Even with that many picks this year we probably won’t be good this next year so could have a shot at top tier QB as well
Caserio could also trade down and acquire future picks and more value. If you can get all of the return up front you prioritize that deal.
You can always trade a 1st fora 2nd or 3rd and a future 1st, depending on how high the pick you're trading is. Bottom line is if this trade happens before the draft. (I've got my doubts) Then Caserio will be sitting pretty with a bevy of picks to rebuild the team.
I think the Giants are the most realistic spot. Currently slotted to have the 5th and 8th pick with a new GM coming in that will want to make a splash and get their franchise back on track. we would have 3 top 10 picks in addition to a combination of 2/3 second round picks or players (Barkley, Lawrence, etc)
Exactly why morons last year acting like his trade value would go down, or teams would fall out it, were in fact, morons.
Both Giants and Jets are looking like they will have two top 10 picks, I'm sure Caserio will do his job and make them drive up the price.
